If money is the only motivation to fight, at his age, it's a good decision to skip out on this fight. Pac will be putting everything he can into camp, and if JMM's motivation is purely money he won't be. Stupid to fight a fully motivated Pac when you're not.

I think it's fair to say, after four grueling fights, that Marquezl will never ever fight Pacquiao for money and only money. He will always show up a beast mentally and physically and four legendary tries should be enough proof to that.

It's a valid concern, but that's what happens what you've made it. It's a big reason that drives every boxer, the outsized purse. Leaving it on the table would be noble, but who does that? It's like walking away when you win the american idol, cause it just won't get any better than that.

Dingdong is a joke on this forum.

Should be on the ban list of every member of ESB. OnePunchKO isn't much better.

It's been almost 6 weeks since the fight. When are they gonna stop crying about it?

Agenda? What are you talking about? With Marquez out of the picture, if Pac doesn't fight Bradley, who does he fight? Please do tell. Bradley is the only fight that is safe enough AND has some intrigue.

The fight would put Pac back squarely on top of the division second to only one man. Mayweather, who will probably fight Guerrero. The winner of that fight could face Pac.

"Experts"? What makes them experts? How many have been in a gym and sparred? Also, I regularly attend fights with GOOD seats. A fight is much easier to judge on television. All the experts EXCEPT for the judges right?

Robberies happen. If he had it in him to do better guess what? Rematch! :deal

Don't get me wrong, I'd happily watch it, I watch any boxing on tv. But I'm not inviting any prospective boxing fans over for that one, saving that for JMM 5. It's the difference between a sure fire excellent fight, and a probable dud.

What makes them experts is that unlike me and you, somebody pays them to report and give an opinion on boxing. Some of them are very established and have wide outlets as well.

He had reason to take those rematches, because he and a lot of fans felt he won and he was robbed. He won this fight very very clearly. He did what he set out to do.. He feels he doesn't owe Pac, he obviously doesn't want to fight Pac to just fight him, so the only other reason would be money.

Marquez is not young. If he were younger, it would be questionable.. But there were doubts of his ability fighting Pac because of his age last time, why keep pushing it if you don't feel the need? It's a great way to end your career.

    Fair enough...

Pac took on Diaz instead of taking an immediate rematch with JMM

But I'd hope Marquez would be decent enough to eventually give Pac a return. As Pac was to him

Maybe JMM doesn't want to chance Pacquiao redeeming himself!

Absolutely if he's happy with what he's made so far, he should retire on that note. But having an opportunity to earn more than half of your entire career's purse in one night is usually irresistible. This is no RJJ/Holyfield situation where they're selling their name for pennies. Serious money, won't be there forever.

But it doesn't sound like he wants to retire. What's out there for him? He can choose from high risk low reward (Bradley, Rios), or very low risk/reward.

Takes two to tango. If Marquez doesn't get "up" for this fight it could be a stinker. Bradley is a professional and after the tarring and feathering he got before I am positive he will be there with a chip on his shoulder.

Getting paid for something doesn't make you an expert. Ask the analysts over at S&P. They are just observers. Mostly with crap opinions. A year in a gym sparring various people will open your eyes to how dumb they are. My favorite is "he needs to throw combinations". You can tell these armchair quarterbacks have never stood in front of another man trying to throw 2, 3, 4, 5 punches in a row. It is the main reason they run real fighters off of the air constantly. They are no more knowledgeable than anyone else who watches a lot of Boxing.

One of them was getting stopped that last fight. Marquez looked like he was getting the worst of it up to that perfectly planned, timed, and landed punch.

This would definitely not be a sure thing for Marquez to try again.

They'll probably have to reverse the purse split in Marquez' favor to entice him which won't work for Pacquiao ("I don't want to fight in the states anymore because I pay too much tax") and Arum ("I'm a raging homo").

Marquez has a price so it's up to the other guys to meet it if they want the fight bad enough.
