Whom should be added to/omitted from this list? Basilio Frazier Chavez Arguello Pedroza Marciano Zarate Armstrong Duran McCallum
This content is protected Klaus packs a great number of photograph into his work for such a comparatively short and focused book: 27 in all including several action shots from his fights giving this book a ratio of about 1 photo for every 2 ½ pages of instruction. Particular gems include The Liver Punch, Feigning Grogginess, and Beating an Opponent by Punching his Gloved Hands or Arms.
Bob Fitzsimmons was heralded as a murderous body-belter in his day. Plus he holds the single greatest bodypunching feat in history- winning the HW championship of the world with a single body blast. He's my undisputed number 1. Sal has a solid list, but in addition to Fitz I would add: Tony Zale (a top 3 guy for me) Frank Klaus Billy Petrolle Ace Hudkins
Paul Berlenbach might be another addition. Remove Marciano maybe? Not because he wasn't a very good body puncher.
Hmm....difficult call, but I'd put Petrolle over Frazier, Basilio and maybe Zarate. Frazier could whack hard to the body, but Petrolle was more consistent with it.
'Cause I thunk this list up in about four minutes while trying to come up with an idea, and forgot him.
Apparently Olivares stopped the unstoppable Jose Luis Ramirez with a left hook to the liver. As Vic said as well Jofre, it was a body shot that stopped Saldivar.
