Member of the British Olympic team, beat Junior Jones (who beat that bum, Barrerra, twice :hey), Medina, almost went the distance with Hamed before his cruel fate was sealed when highly weight drained against Botile in only his 25th Professional fight.. he won the IBF Featherweight Title but if he hasn't suffered his life threatening injuries, could he have gone on to greater things?
Dont know abouit great, but he could have been a solid champ, and contender for years after the botile fight
Are you aware that Jones was stopped at 122 in the 4th round by both Erik Morales and Kennedy McKinney at least 1 1/2 years before stepping into the ring against Ingle, and that it took Ingle 11 to stop the shopworn version of Jones at 126? Are you aware that Medina had 10 losses (as well as almost 70 fights) by the time he fought Ingle? And you may hate MAB's guts, but you call him "a bum" and then go on to question how great Paul Ingle COULD have been?
He was a fun fighter to watch, loved his fights with Junior Jones, the kid was tough as nails and in your face all night. Fighting like that you wont last long in the sport we will never know to be honest
The whole point he called MAB a "bum" was to try and build up the Jones win, it was sarcasm. The emoticon was supposed to show that he was joking about MAB.
Good fighter but nothing more, had an exciting style but Junior Jones would have iced him 2 years before they fought, gave Naz a bit of trouble..
I think he became everything he could've become. Busted up Hamed a bit, mostly b/c Steward and Suarez were laughably bad trainers for Hamed. Having a 5'3" guy who relies on unorthodoxy to stand upright behind a conventional guard. Lucky for them Hamed's power would bail them out a few times.
