It was certainly a very good win for him, but I'd be more impressed if Rashad actually looked like he gave a ****. :good

    :hat

A mismatch is better than no fight at all, so I see why he got the short notice thing. But to sell a PPV on the strength of a mismatch? Hendo may well lose to Machida and will probably retire if he does, then that fight is gone forever. All because Sonnen will give some good copy in the lead up to to the fight and it will add some spice to season 17 of TUF but come fight time he will be outclassed massively. I say again, why have official rankings if the UFC clearly make fights based on entertainment/back story reasons. They never had them before and having them now kind of makes some of the matchmaking look ridiculous.

Is it just me - or did they manage to find a way to literally make every division look like they completely suck?

I dunno I feel Werdum and Lesnar are bigger win than Nelson & Nog (only just though).

There are some problems I see in the future and some things that don't add up:

-Cormier and Melendez are much further up the scale than Luke Rockhold, which I don't think is justified.... Luke Rockhold should be at #5.

-Chad Mendes is ranked the #1 Contender, but is scheduled to fight Manny G (who doesn't even make the damn list). I know this was signed probably before this idea came about, but is he holding that #1 spot hostage or what??:deal So this tells me Lamas will have to go through Mendes in order to get his Title Fight.

    -Clay Guida gets no love.

-Without question, Koscheck is better than Kampmann and Ellenberger... They threw a couple of Contenders in front of him because he is just that good, and could probably earn another crack at the Title a year from now. The powers that be are just prolonging the inevitable.

For the most part it's the list that I wanted, but what I don't want is Gustafsson having to fight the loser of Hendo v Machida for a Title Fight (should he win his next fight). But, more than likely Daniel Cormier is going to get a Title shot at JJ before anyone else.... So I see Gustafsson v Teixeira fighting for a shot at the Title later this year. One thing that I love about this list is Johny as the #1 WW Contender in the World... This is his time, and we shall see if he is destined for UFC Gold.

I agree, while interest is very high and Werdum has a fight scheduled..... Brown Pride dominates after being knocke out in 64 seconds.... Let's draw some conclusions and move on to the next Contender.... I don't even feel comfortable calling JDS a Contender anyway, give us our rubber match and make it a big friggin' deal.... Let the two HWs fight in Brazil or Mexico this summer, but a rubber match in Vegas makes a lot more sense in terms of growth. I say Vegas, Vegas baby Vegas!!

Absolutely. Carwin is as good as retired as far as I'm concerned.

Lol @ Edgar giving a competitive fight. He got dominated. He did absolutely NOTHING that had any success with exceptions of an uppercut and couple of hooks the whole fight. I don't know what fight people were watching.

I agree, and it makes me sad. And someone said Reems wins were bigger? He only has 1 in UFC. These are UFC rankings, not mma rankings, right?

I dont really have a problem with the names but drop Frankie and put in Melendez then move Jones down 1-2 steps for starters.
GSP deserves that P4P #2 but i wouldnt argue with those who thinks he should be #1 either
