JC's a Boxer, Froch is a Fighter, I think Froch is a better fighter than JC is a Boxer. So Yes.

Haye had all the potential. So few fights. Should have been boxing 3 times a year for god knows how long.

Has to be Calzaghe - he was as far from his prime when fighting Hopkins as Hopkins was

Calzaghe - Unbeaten and fought Eubank, Kessler, Jones, Hopkins and anybody else who would fight him. Why do we think that fighters have to go to America and be dictated to before they become a ATG???

Froch - Ducked nobody and fought the best for last 3/4 years not as technical as Calazaghe but who is however his boxing skills are under rated imo.

Hatton - Got boxing back in the mainstream and dont think we will ever see somebody take the following abroad in the future.

Others to mention are Haye & Khan but dont think there on the same level as the 3 above.

 

Ability and skill, you'd have to rank Calzaghe at the top, closely followed by Hatton. Unfortunately Hatton was already on the downslide by the time he stepped up to world level on a regular basis.

Froch is the next best for me, he's deceptively skilled and clearly wouldn't have beaten who he's beaten without his fair share of ability.

Record-wise, he trumps Hatton relatively easily, and is comparable with Calzaghe. If he loses again to Kessler though he can forget exceeding him forever.

 

I'd say that you are correct in respect of how they are considered/regarded by most people.

But really, Calzaghe wasn't a brilliant boxer.... he was an exceptional fighter who loved a tear up, and had the determination and durability to pull it off.

Froch can't fight for ****, certainly not at world level. Pretty much everyone who he's beaten has been outboxed and outpunched, he's not really succeeded in a war.

Look at the Pascal fight, was dead even until Froch used his jab, from then on it was relatively one-sided.

 

Nonsense mate joe was a master boxer Carl is a very good fighter,joe can change tactics mid-fight Carl struggles to do that (ward fight),joe can also fight when needed (Kessler) and IMO joe would have stopped Carl after out out boxing him at range with speed a variety of punches

 

Calzaghe is so underrated. He was elite level P4P Class. He was ranked number 2 P4P when he retired! Thats no joke
