I see your point but then again, it doesn't change the fact that outpointing Adamek on official scorecards is virtually a hopeless endeavor unless you're a Klit or someone of very high profile like Povetkin, Haye, Pulev. Technically, I wouldn't blame him for incompetent judging but so far he wasn't too eager to grant rematches following controversial or very close decisions, was he? Cunningham ain't too happy with the latest decision and neither was Chambers, who is on record (in fact here on ESB) saying that Adamek pursued no rematch with him. There may well be different factors that accounted for Adamek's suspicious streak of controversal decision that all went his way lately, i.e. him being a cash cow, his aggressive (but sadly ineffective) style, clueless judges, but bottom line is, he does more damage than good at this point and should retire once Pulev ran over him.
Can't think of a single HW who fights as many ranked opponents as Adamek does who are not named Klit. The usual ***** squad will cry no matter what though. Funny thing is I'm sure this fight won't happen based on wiki rumor but ESB ***** squad will run with it anyway. HOF bound baby. Deal with it Nazi boy, Brittards and *** mod
I'm aware it was a rematch. Adamek didn't fight USS because he felt bad for edging the first fight so closely but because he thought Cunningham is the easy route at HW. Everybody expected Adamek to blow light chinned USS out and it backfired.
So you thought the never been stopped Cunningham would have been stopped easily by Tomaz "one of the worst ever HW's of all time!" Adamek? Ok.
In hindsight, it was. What's your point? Adamek's additional weight hampered his movement and lost him the fight but it's foolish to assume that he doesn't hit harder than at 200. USS on the other hand, entered the ring barely above CW weight and got put on his ass on a regular basis lately. The odds that he would go the entire fight without eating a single devastating flush right hand were rather slim to me. Also, I never called Adamek one of the worst HWs ever. He may well be one of the worst top 10 contenders in recent memory though.
I don't think Adamek's been the same since the beating he took by vitali personally. I could see Arreola even beat him now. That's a fight I could see Adamek pull out of the Pulev fight to take and then retire. If Arreola does grab the vacant WBC belt that's probably the first defence we'll see.
So hes avoiding Pulev, but was willing to fight Klitschko? Strange move! Hes fought a few good level of heavyweight actually. Klitschko Chambers Arreola Cunningham Walker ALL these guys are better than anything Wilders fought. Michael Grant is better than anything Wilder has fought
