    from bokser.org:

David Tua (52-4-2, 43 KO) is ready to come out of retirement to fight Sonny Bill Williams (6-0, 3 KO). The 41 year old wants to grab the chance to make some money against the former rugby player, who's attracting more and more attention in Australia.

Williams beat Frans Botha on points last Friday, but didn't show himself in good light. The New Zealand native was nearly knocked out late against the South African. Know as a huge puncher, the „Tuaman” would be a real threat to Williams.

oh, I hope this happens, Tua coming out of retirement to end the hype job SBW train, and making some money doing so!

On a side note, Tua vs. Botha (a decade or so ago - back when they weren't both fat, shot, and slower than molasses) would've been fun. :thumbsup

Give Tua an 8 week camp and he'll knock SBW unconscious ala
    John Ruiz.

Tua at 240 is a killing machine. If he has his head right, death to Billy Dee Williams.

God id love to see this. i doubt SBW will take it. He doesn't seem too keen to continue boxing. Head is more in his rugby but he could be influenced.

If he accepts, it pretty much tips his hand being in it for the money as this road leads to getting KTFO and paid handsomely for it.

If he wants to build himself into a real contender and is having an honest go at boxing as his main focus, he'll pass on the money and realize he's too early in his development to risk going up against Tua's power & experience.

I don't know, Williams was fine through 8 rounds with Botha. I don't think Tua brings much more to the table than Botha does at this point. Both really are the same; 40+ has beens/kinda never weres with shitty resumes of late. Wouldn't be surprised if Williams went the distance, rode his bike well while with little activity and still doubling up Tua's output.

Dont see why people assume Tua will KO him?

Tua is now in his 40s, and hasnt had a decent win in about a decade.

Hes recently drawn and lost to Monte Barrett.

Botha was actually much more active in recent years and fighting at a higher level than Tua.

Tua may catch him, but this isnt the Tua of years ago,and SBW did show in the Botha fight, that he isnt just hype, he can box a bit and has freak athleticism

They're pretty much the same except Tua's power >>> Botha's power. (which is saying something, because the White Buffalo can hit).

Tua's power is rendered a moot point against most top-30 live bodies due to him being so old, shot, and slow. Old, shot and slow Botha was still able to find Williams once he finally began to push the throttle around the 8th/9th/10th after literally sleepwalking for the first seven. Tua isn't the "come on strong late" type. Quite the opposite. He's a fast starter who fades and then hopes for a second wind that may or may not ever come. (decreasingly so with age)

He'll apply the same aggression Botha did to Williams in the 8th/9th/10th, but he'll do so in the 1st/2nd/3rd...and based on Williams' reactions last week and the fact that Tua's got harder fists than Botha...well...
