Donaire is going to go hard on Rigondeaux

Yeah, I can see him being fired up for this. Might work against him, though. Because it'll bring him out of his element (counterpunching). He's not really a seek and destroy fighter, and if he tries to become one, he'll give Rigo chances to counterpunch.

But ****, who knows, Rigo's been hurt by much lesser fighters and so it wouldn't surprise me if Donaire catches and buries him.

 

After the warrior Jorge Arce acted completely out of character on the ring as though he was being stalked?

Everybody else will be at a mental advantage when taking on Donaire.
That alone should make his early KO percentage to increase.

Donaire is going to show a stellar chin probably take an 8 count to the body but would refuse to be knocked out . expect rigondeaux to win unanimously with a brave and busted up donaire finishing the fight on his feet . rigo has the most sickening shots to the body I have seen period . his opponent roll and winch on the floor in excruciating pain . ouch just check those body shots how he places them perfect .

 

You should absolutely want your countryman to win..... And I commend you for using logic and seeing this fight as a toss-up. I'm just sick of fan boys making predictions of an early KO based on the fact that they're a fan. That goes for the Donaire fans too... It just seems like the Rigo fans are a more likely to make crazy claims.

Donaire has shown he has power and solid boxing skills his whole career and has beaten some name opponents. Rigo is still a largely unproven commodity in the pros, regardless of his amateur accomplishments (although he's looked good so far, albeit against overmatched opponents).

Advantage Donaire. But It's not a huge advantage, and I give you props for calling it a 50-50.

 

You are as ignorant as they come. Rigo completely dominated Cordoba from the 1st to the 6th
( including a knockdown ) and played it safe from the 6th to the 12th while Cordoba was chasing him without landing anything at all while Rigo countered and landed on him. Stop the Cordoba fight bull crap, Rigo won a wide UD and had the KO but decided to play it safe. Oh, do you know it was Rigo's only 7TH pro fight fighting a former World Champ? Stop the hating ...

I'd be a fool if I ignore Donaires skills and power but I honestly believe Rigo has the tools the beat him. I rather see Cubans fighting and losing against the best than keeping an " undefeated " record against lesser opponents.

 

It's odds on that Rigondeaux gets knocked out. He's been troubled by some fighters who are pretty far from special -- and Donaire's definitely special.

 

So when Rigo knocks out Donaire what will you say?

I think Nonito will be somewhat hesitant early on, but within the first 2-4 rounds will land something (not huge) significant which will change the fight. I don't mean like a KD but maybe something that wobbles or stuns Rigo. Rigo will become aware of Donaire's hurtin power. Nonito takes over from there. Late KO/TKO or close UD. I also think b/c of Rigo's technical ability he could potentially land a big shot. It's a great fight.

 

I just watched the Cordoba fight earlier cuz someone posted a link. Rigo certainly does seem to have a somewhat soft spot on his chin that was reconfirmed in his last fight. These weren't big shots that he reacted too. This could be ugly for him.
