Actually I bet Martinez would love to fight GGG, he just gave an interview saying Golovkin might be his biggest challenge. It's mostly Dibella would rather not. Sergio jumped at the chance to fight Paul Williams and Kelly Pavlik when both those guys were viewed as monsters. Once Gennady ups his public status, the fight will happen.
Quillin is seeking hostage over at Showtime, HBO is backing Gennady and thats good for boxing. There's a major reason Quillin is leaning towards Showtime, and that's because HBO putting pressure on him to make fights people want to see.
What Eddie Hearns is doing here is actually pretty smart. Instead of talking up his own fighter he is fuelling the rise of Golovkin by heaping praise on him. Not a stupid move. The more attention and star fame Golovkin has, the more profitable a fight with him will be down the road. I hope for the sake of boxing that Martinez does not retire without having fought Golovkin.
