Not much talk about this fight, but I'm very excited to see it. I want Ishe Smith to win, been a fan of his for a while now so I hope he can get the belt. Just hard to say because this fight honestly could go either way. Who do you guys got?
K9 really turned his career around, so I won't count him out. But a shot Spinks was outboxing him in the 2nd fight before he got KAYOED.
One thing is for sure, It is not going to be pretty. He with the better chin shall win. I favor Smith but wouldn't be surprised IF K-9 sparked him.
Smith wins this one if He manage to trow back and not be in defensive mode, that cost him a few fights.
Like this fight! Should be fun to watch. I hope K9 wins it for Boxing's sake. He really keeps the ~154 pound scene stylistically diverse and interesting. I think the greatest threat to guys like Alvarez and even Martinez are guys who can legitimately crack all fight long, i.e., K9, Kirkland, GGG. I would love to see those match-ups.
Ishe has never been "sparked" before, so why would K9 be able to do it? I think it'll be an interesting but not exciting fight, and I favor Ishe to get the decision.
One last run for two aging vets? This will be interesting. Ishe has a more diverse attack, when he uses it. K9 has the one hitter quitter. I think it comes down to a decision. Knowing Smith's history of shelling up and leaving some close rounds on the table, it could go either way.
K9 has a real aggressive style that could even be fan friendly, but he's still fighting below world level. He can get away with what he does vs a shot fighter or a journeyman, but never a world class fighter. Smith always goes the distance, but against elites never does enough to win. Both these guys been around the block they could raise their game knowing they won't ever be in this position ever again or go back to being gatekeepers.
ishe knows how to do just enough to lose close. Even though he's been on the wrong end of some decisions. I believe he'll be outworked and lose a decision. i dont see a ko though, ishe has a solid chin. his defense is gonna cost him (ishe)
Ishe should win this without much issue, particularly if he's letting his hands go Dude has a very good chin and a solid defense. K9 is as crude as they come, and in my opinion, one of the least talented title holders in the sport. He also is relatively chinny. Wouldn't surprise me if Ishe wins this by stoppage.
