Where will Rees get success in this fight?

Unfortunately for Rees Broner just seems to be better in every department, my prediction is Broner will just wipe the floor with Rees.

 

stamina and his nose is a worry.

 

Rees can't box or wait for counters here. He needs to go in hard from the first bell. Make this a dog fight and ruff Broner up. Make Broner as uncomfortable as he can. If stands at range with the superior Broner, he's going to eat leather and will get annihilated in quick succession.

Rees really needs to make this a fight. He'll get eaten up by Broner fast if he wants to 'box'.

 

throwing combinations in and out with good lateral movement is his best bet imo. if he closes the gap he will be hit with punches he wont see on the inside. tough match up but as many have said, watch the ponce de Leon fight as a blueprint

 

Fight at long range and counter puncher using lateral movement (get Broner leading off and reseting which he doesn't like to do). I don't write a fighter like Gavin off. He's a good fighter and got the ability but it's going to be mighty tough but there going to come with a good plan and Rees is a guy who mentally is strong enough to deal with the occassion and experienced.

I think it's going to be a entertaining battle but your money has to be on Broner but stick a few quid on the shock. Why not :yep..

 

Success is relative, Rees will have had success if he did as well as Barker did against Martinez.

As for where in the ring...I really don't know. Don't think Gav has it in him to do what Skills wants. Gav is a good boxer, not a lot he does wrong but he ain't got the footwork to have those dancing shoes on. Everything Rees does is about gaining initiative to come forward. He's got a good jab and knows how to work his way close, don't get me wrong, but is he going to outjab Broner? If he does get close what can he do, he is literally a midget physically compared to Adrien and he's going to cut to bits by Broner's variety and speed up close.

 

I agree with T, I don't think Gavin's going to win the fight by dancing around he's going to have to pick his moments. He's never been a guy to move a great deal laterally he normally takes his time, I think he's going to have to use lateral movement centre ring and side step and wait to pounce of Broners falling off balance and ambush.

I think it's his best chance, Don't fight to close to ropes. He needs to fight centre ring but make Broner move his feet, don't let him get set. But this fight in terms of Rees success is all about Gavin doing things he's not used to doing. Which a lot of the time for fighters means they lose but i just don't think he can fight Broner the way he did say against Derry etc.

He's got to come with something different and something that gets him through the rounds and settles him in. He doesn't want to get marked up and cut early on he needs a foothold in fight.

I don't think he will be torn apart inside as bad as DeMarco but he can't stay there he's got to be like a bank robber. In and out. Cos otherwise he's in trouble...

 

I think he has to get in and out, but pressure him and throw punches in bunches. He can not afford to try and single shot him as he'll get picked apart.

Shake and bake baby. Gavin is cannon fodder. If he is lucky, he will live to fight another day.

 

I agree with PaulieMc here. Rees has to take it to Broner, but the second half of the fight is where Rees has to step it up and too many fighters fade here when using bully tactics. Rees shouldn't be afraid to cover up at times, get in close or bring Broner to him and look for some big uppercuts.

 

Rough him up and headbutt him as much as possible

 

He absolutely needs to make Broner work defensively and in areas where he doesnt like it, if Broner can stand and punch at medium range he will cause damage to Rees.

Rees looks in great nick, I hope his chin holds up because he will be hit, if he poors on the front foot and attacks Broners body without being clobbered too much, I think he can make this a fight.

What he must do; push a pace, close the distance quickly and attack Broners body, in essence break his will!

 

Rees is awkward, Mbaye and Kotelnik had problems with him.

I think he has the skills, speed, movement and the punches to land on Broner. Rees should havehis moments in this fight.

Despite what others are saying, a win would be awesome for him. He would be on mainstream TV, interviews and the lot. A hero back home.

 

Actually im reading through these posts and I'm kind of agree'ing here. Rees has good movement and punches well in flurrys, Broner can be upright and rigid at times.

I had a picture in my mind of Rees bulldozering in and fighting on Broners chest Hatton style, but if he can do the above as well as hit Broners body and push a pace he might find a way to dictate the fight
