Retire for a year, then come back and make a great fuzz... take on some domestic bum he can easily beat for a huge payday and his fans will eat it up.
I think he should go after Adamek if he can't secure a fight with Vitali, or should he lose. Adamek is much past it and is ready for the taking, an athletic HW puncher like Haye should put him away at this point.
probably retirement, maybe another TV series in the wild, a fitness video, and a year later he will fight Fury, KO him and retire... oh wait, deja vu???
Audley is an Olympic champion, former European champion and former world title challenger. He is no bum
He only got a WBA titleshot because Haye wanted to fight him, he wasn't even in the (at that moment very weak) top 15 at first. Current Audley qualifies as a bum in my book. He doesn't even hit back.
I always prefer fighters who retire early and young. If no Vitali this year, I'd like him to fight a top 10 or even 20 HW again then retire if there's no reason/offer/motivation for a Wladimir rematch. As for who particularly, obviously the Price/Fury all British battles would be ideal, but so too would be Johnathan Banks (deserving, plus the Wladimir storyline), Odlanier Solis (history in the amateurs), or Steve Cunningham (kinda random, but both were CW champs and Cunn did beat Adamek by most accounts).
Not being able to beat a 42-year-old Vitali combined with three straight fights at a healthy and sharp looking 210 pounds means if he wants to keep going, he could go back to cruiser and bugger everyone there.
Any Audley post 2005 was pretty much a bum, maybe not a bum but certainly not a World Title challenger, I've never seen a professional fighter with fear in his eyes as much as Audley.
People are always hard on Audley, it's his own doing but he did get to a level of the sport the vast majority don't. On his day he could be a pretty gutsy fighter - see Williams II beatdown and the Sprott II fight where he fought with one arm and pulled a shock KO. Previously Williams had floored him and Sprott had sickeningly knocked him out cold. Regarding Haye I would like to see him face Adamek (who he would KTFO) and hopefully entice Chambers back up to HW which would be a close fight, maybe 60/40 Haye. Realistically if he can't get Vitali or a Wlad rematch then he'll bow out on a megabucks domestic showdown and make Tyson Fury have a little sleep.
He should retire! But after some time he will comeback and will try to talk his way into a title challenge!
