Has Dana lost the plot?!?!? Former welterweight contender Jon Fitch was among the 16 UFC fighters who were released from the promotion on Tuesday. UFC president Dana White also confirmed with MMAFighting.com that the following fighters were also let go: Wagner Prado, Mike Russow, Jacob Volkmann, Vladimir Matyushenko, Che Mills, Jay Hieron, Terry Etim, Paul Sass, Jorge Santiago, Mike Stumpf, Simeon Thoresen, C.J. Keith, Motonobu Tezuka, Josh Grispi and Ulysses Gomez. Each fighter was coming off at least one loss in his most recent fight. I´m not surprised.....I think Dana never liked Fitch´s style, labeled as boring by many fans. Is obviously wrong though since Fitch is a very skilled fighter...
The only thing that surprises me is that some people still try to make the argument that Zuffa runs the UFC like a legit sporting league.
Dana only cares about the entertainment his fighters can provide, because that means money....I won´t say he is wrong, but definitely takes a little of MMA as a legit sport.
Crazy if you ask me... there are some very good fighters there and most of them only have one loss... complete madness to keep cutting guys so quickly! Lynchburg
Fitch was 1-2-1 in his last 4 fights. The UFC has always been about, "what have you done for me lately". His 12 second performance of getting KTFO didn't help him much.
He earned a FOTN just two fights ago, in a fight he won. Usually you have to at least drop three in a row to get cut, especially if you are as established as Fitch.
How the **** do the UFC let Fitch go, but keep Brendan Vera? atsch Do they think Vera makes the girls' ****s get wet or something? :-(
Madness... he seems to now think UFC is MMA. I wouldn't be shocked if he started to ask reporters to start calling UFC from now on or be subject to banishment. Some of the fighters did not even know... they are on Twitter now asking if it's a joke... :verysad Lynchburg
Dude, Leonard Garcia, as far as I know, is still on the roster. He arguably hasn't won a fight since he knocked out Pulver in 2008.
