It´s a lot to ask to be honest. It means he has to fight at least 6 times. That means one fight per 5 months. He is 36 years old. And he has to find opponents who are marketable. Opponents who have some kind of a story.
Cotto was and probably is still the nr3 draw in boxing.
Ortiz had the resurrection part of his career, his upbringing and excitement in the ring that sold.
Guerrero has a big mouth and the story with his wife will sell like cupcakes. Add to that his two weigh jump.

On the surface, this looks like a bad deal for Showtime. Like they were desparate to sign Mayweather no matter what and HBO was paying market value and didn't budge. Ellerbe said Showtime paid a lot more than HBO. There's no way Floyd's fighting 6 times. If he is, he's going to have some L's. He's be close to 40.

No it looks horrible for HBO, they have been in the business of selling the public shitty over matched fights and selling it as gold. Showtime has had loaded cards from top to bottom, with plenty more to look forward to with the sports biggest star in their pocket

You rather watch a 48 year old BHOP headline shows though right

In the short run, yeah, it's good for Showtime and bad for HBO. But in the long run, i bet you Showtime overpaid because they were desparate while HBO stood firm on what they thought was a fair offer. Floyd is only going to fight a few more fights and he's done. Then the lookout for the next superstar will be on again. So from a business perspective, i bet you Showtime overpaid.

Whats is HBO gonna do with 90% of Golden Boy Roster already making the move over to Showtime, do you not realize Golden Boy has a Monopoly over the talent

    Martinez vs Bum
    Bradley vs Bum
    Sergio Marinez vs Bum
    GGG vs Bum
    40 year old JMM
    Parkinsons Manny
    50 year old Bhop

This is what HBO thinks about boxing fans, the dont give one **** about putting pressure on fighters to make the best match available, they are only interested in filling their pockets. Showtime already had surpassed HBO, have you not seen HBO try to steal their presentation type, they scrambling over there, showtime needed a star to catapult them and they got the biggest undefeated star for the last matches of his career.
