Clearly Pacquiao stepping on Marquez foot did'nt propel him foward. When Pacquiao stepped on Marquez' foot, Marquez shot was allready on its way. Pacquiao stepping on Marquez' foot did'nt make him move back or foward, he remained where he was at, the shot run on full speed catches Pacquiao in a blink of an eye. Pacquiao threw the lazy guaging type jab and Marquez fired full tilt and throttle his right hand with all his mass driving foward toward Pacquiao and thats all she wrote. For Roach to say that stepping on Marquez foot propelled Pacquiao foward is 100% erroneous. The video evidence clearly does not support that.
Of course it didnt propel him forward, but it made him lose his balance. He had no front leg under him by the time the punch landed. You can't brace yourself for a punch if you have no balance. This is is just simple logic here. Look at this gif carefully, Pac is tilting over and falling forward BEFORE the punch lands. He's almost diagonal by the time the punch hits him. If his leg hadn't got tied up that wouldn't have happened. He would of had the support of his front leg and he wouldn't be falling forward in a constant motion like that. Something like that can make all the difference. This content is protected
He didn't trip forward, he lunged forward thinking he was gonna back Marquez all the way back to the corner. See how he jumps forward when he throws the feint jab, Marquez does a little backstep. Pac then jumps forward again to throw another but Marquez has already started throwing his right. It WAS a balance issue for Pac but it wasn't from any tripping, it was from Pac lunging forward wide open.
Yes he lunged forward, then he tripped... This content is protected He's toppling / falling over before the punch lands. This content is protected Look carefully again at this gif one more time. Notice at the very beginning Pac does a little hop step - 1, 2 (steps forward, stops). After that, he tries another hop-step, except this time he's in constant forward motion - all the way until he hits the floor. That's because his front foot is caught and he's lost his balance.
Marquez' shot was on its way and was going to land flush and hard regardless of where Pacquiao's lead foot landed. We're talking miliseconds here between Pacquiao's foot being in a bad position and the punch landing. Whether it contributed to Pacquiao being put to sleep is hard to say. It may have, but I'm not sure that punch does'nt knock Pacquiao out anyways. Pacquiao was lunging foward and Marquez put alot of mustard on that short shot. Pacquiao just left himself wide open with guaging lazily with the jab.
I think it's just very simple to put. Just take out all the baloney equations and we'll and up with this conclusion: Marquez knew Pac will charge in and shot a full-force counter right while Pac charged in face first with no regards to his own personal safety.
Bazooka there is a clear gif out there that shows Marquez landed the KO blow before he stepped on Pac's foot. In fact, Pac stepped on Marquez foot. After he hit Pac, he then stepped on Pacs foot.
I can see what you're getting at and I don't think you're trolling lol. Nice gif btw but I think it proves my point that the punch was going to land regardless if their feet touched or not. Don't look at their feet at the point of impact, look at Pac just before he does the second hop-step... he is jumping forward with it... at the same time look at Marquez.. By the time Pac does the second hop-stop, Marquez is a step ahead of him and already throwing the right. After seeing the new gif you posted, I can see what you mean by he tripped off Marquez's foot into the punch, but that's irrelevant. The punch was going to land regardless while Pac was lunging forward. Look at the gif again and imagine Marquez steps further out and Pac doesn't land on his foot... Pac is still coming forward with full momentum, not expecting a counter right (His guard is completely down) and THAT'S what put PAC to sleep.
