If Floyd lost do u think he would avenge his lost and keep going or do u think he would hang the gloves up for good. Because if Floyd lost to Ghost we all know he wouldn't be the same Floyd Mayweather Jr. we love (to hate).
His pride would either force him to never been seen in public again, or he would demand an instant rematch and go hell for leather to try and kill the opponent to make a point. Not sure which it would be though...
Depends how it happens. I think he would take a rematch. May take a avg fight or two and then call it a day
It would be funny if he lost lol. I like floyd but hes not some Andre ward who makes some big deal about his "0". Most of floyds arguments & comebacks he says are about his "0" so he makes it a huge deal he is undefeated. I can imagine Ward taking a loss and not effecting him but floyd LOL!!! Floyd him self disrespected alot of great fighters simply because they lost before, even if they faced awsome boxers to him it means nothing if you lost before. So in floyds mind he will have nothing that seprates him from any other great boxer. Of course this is floyds train of thought & not mine. I think losses creat great stories & resumes for expl pac vs JMM
Floyd is up there in age. Six fights supposedly on contract, gonna be tough. I think he has too much pride to just walk away though. He has more heart than people think
I agree he has heart but I think he has more pride then heart. Going to be a bitter sweet day. I just think a loss will have to much effect on him. He did this to him self. Im sure he would come back but would probably one day end up a big name for a Danny Garcia type fighter. Hopefully not though, I hate seeing great fighter being used as stepping stones. Hope floyd goes out on top.
I agree. I think he's licking his chops with Ghost's latest comments... suggesting Floyd's ripe for the picking and old and all that. Floyd's a warrior. Anytime he gets hurt he calms the situation down and then fires back a la Mosley, Cotto, Judah, Hatton, etc. Should Floyd lose, and he WILL if he fights 6 more times against opponents such as Saul/Trout (as he indicated he might), I think he fights a rematch (unless a brutal KO). The funny thing is: If Floyd had 1 loss on his record he would most likely take on much more challenging fights. Because he has a 0 he's just stuck in protection mode. :-((
Agree with this. Floyd's pride appears to be quite large ESPECIALLY considering his recent interview where he contemplates fighting Saul/Trout... And Ellerbe joked about Floyd finishing his career @ 160. Seriously... Floyd's an amazing fighter and an ATG assuredly, but taking such fights at the age of 36-37 is just foolish. Floyd's ego is unwilling to accept the fact that, no matter how smart he is, he can't evade time.
I think Mayweather will fight well beyond his prime, and would bet he loses eventually. I don't think a loss would stop him from fighting on.
