It's a good question. Khan's in one way - the hype and the fact Prescott got handled by others later on. But Price's is bad because Thompson looked near-shot against Wlad and, truthfully, for most of the time against Price!

I'll give it narrowly to Price.

Had Prescott faced the world champion in his previous fight i am sure he would have looked **** poor. its 50-50 for me.

 

Price losing like that takes away almost all of the pressure to make that match. It doesn't matter that Fury wasn't interested, because Price got tuned up by an ancient old man. Fury's got the better win of the two (Chisora), he's undefeated, and has a logical opponent lined up next in TT.

All true, but Fury could have made £500k, become a household name and got all the credit for taking Price's 0.

Its a bit like Ward/Bute/Froch. Sure everyone now sees Ward as the man at 168lbs without any doubts, but Ward missed out on a $2million payday and now has nobody to fight.

 

Prescott looked a beast that night, looked like he was hitting like a south bound freight train.

Haye just burned himself out in the Thompson fight being a bit too wild trying to get his man out of there.

But the price fight, that punch didn't look like a knockout punch to me in any way, shape or form.

That said, Khan was wobbling like Bambi on ice from a Prescott Jab just before the KO and Prescott went on to lose to Kevin Mitchell who's chin hasn't exactly held up under scrutiny since that fight.



To be honest though, I think that chin could help Price in a few fights, everyone who fights him is going to be looking to blast him out now and could leave a few people open. I don't care who you are, if that guy hits you you're going to visit the canvas. He has some serious venom in his shot.

 

Price was the worst one i think. At least khan got bombed with some meaty ones, whilst thompson just sort of caressed price

 

I don't think the Price-Fury fight was ever going to happen while Maloney was with Box Nation. It had to be on Channel 5 - otherwise it wasn't really worth Hennessey, or Fury's, time.

And Sky wasn't interested in working with those two promoters, as you've often pointed out. So, yeah, they "lost out" in theory, but it was unlikely to ever happen, IMO.

Ward was a bit of a primadonna regarding Bute. I didn't like his whole speech about "proving himself" when Andre had taken the easiest path through the S6. But it backfired on him, didn't it?
