Kessler is this generations version of Tommy Morrison

look man, what you guys need to understand is HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT KESSLER IS BETTER THEN MIRANDA did he beat him??? I dont remember that fight, did he beat someone that beat Miranda..HMMM lets see......I dont think so.

Kessler hasnt done anything special, he hasnt beat an elite fighter. The closest thing to that is Mundine who isnt very good at all IN THE RING. He has a ton of talent but he fights like a chump(Mundine).

 

Great post except for the part about backing Pavlik up; knock him out; maybe; back him up? Not unless he brings a truck and a tow chain. In fact I think refusing to back up when he should could ultimately prove to be Pavlik's waterloo.

I've seen both Kessler and Miranda fight (on TV). Several fights.
Miranda is a crude puncher, he's tough that's it. Enough to beat B and C-level competition, but not a guy like Kessler. Kessler has MUCH better boxing skills, AND he's also tough and has a punch. In a fight between those two I'd say Kessler makes him look like an amateur, Miranda only having a little punchers chance.

Of course they haven't fought each other, but looking at the competition they fought Kessler clearly has the better record.
Kessler was impressive in his defeat to Calzaghe, one of the P4P best active fighters. He outclassed good fighters Andrade, Beyer and Mundine.
Miranda beat an over the hill Eastman, decent Green, and we know what happened when he fought an A-class level in Pavlik. Respect for his 'do or die' attitude though. His best fight was his loss to Abraham, I know this fight was controversial and he was robbed imo, but it's a fact he wasn't even able to finish a badly hurt Abraham in 8rds, and still fought dirty as hell. That says something about his skills.
Miranda may be exciting and popular in the U.S., but he's clearly on a level below Kessler as a fighter.

Just like Mayweather lovers use to say about Margarito....Who the **** is this guy and what has he done to deserve a fight ? That's exactly what Kessler fans are entitled to think anyways about Miranda !!

If Kessler gets the 175 WBA belt and then fights RJJ to cash in then it's a smart move !

 

Mayweather never agreed to fight Margo. If Miranda doesn't deserve a fight with Kessler, how come they agreed to fight him? How come the fight got as far as compensation, and a network being settled, along with a contract being drawn up? Clearly, team Kessler feels that Miranda is a worthy opponent. Now all of a sudden they decide to back out without giving an explanation.

As of now, all we're left with is Kessler fans making up these other scenarios in an attempt to justify Kessler's dubious actions.

No other interesting fight was immediately available for Kessler so Miranda was a good option because of the money his hype generates....for now !
