It was his robotic movement and low ring IQ.

Power, strength, and iron jaw. Plus an amazing abiltiy to cut off the ring. Lol at all the Klittards on this thread claiming he'd be a midget today. Today's heavyweights are loaded with roids, and do weights, hence the artificial sizes they're at now. Even the Klitschkos weren't that heavy to begin with.

Natural strength > Artificial strength. Magnasakki can attest to Foreman's strength and power. I'll take his word over yours Klittards.

Magna said Wlad hit the hardest though...

Nobody claimed he would be a midget today

Also weights and roids are no good excuse why they're so big.
Pre prison Tyson did no weights and no roids yet was still bigger than most of the 70s
And the 80s that was loaded with roids wasn't as big as the 2000s...

Shame Foreman threw away that jab after he beat Frazier until it reunified with Foreman in his comeback.

Yea, Tommy Morisson really did a good job at fighting Big George

At 6 foot 3 and 225, prime George would not be undersized nowadays. He was really no different size wise than brock, brewster, povetkin, adamek, chagaev, haye, mormeck, chambers, ibragimov, and would be bigger than some of them. He would be an average sized heavy. His physique screamed raw beast, and it was obvious he had considerable strength and power, which bodes well for overcoming any 10-25 pound weight advantage most of todays soft bodied heavies have on paper. The disparity between 6 foot 3 and 225, with 6 foot 7 and 245 is not great in men with size and power, and seemingly smaller men can be much more physical than someone who looks bigger. Suggesting he`s overmatched nowadays and wouldn`t compete is ridiculous. The size of todays heavies is being way overrated and exaggerated. Conditioning matters too. Natural power factors in. Skill level matters.Heart, chin, willpower, killer instinct etc etc etc. They all matter. Judging how someone from 30 years ago would do today needs to consider more than just size. It is different from individual to individual.

Foreman's answer probably be his jab....
I think it was he that said the sport is easy if you have a good jab

It was because it set up his straight right that followed right after the jab...

In his return to boxing, he seemed to be a bit more economical and selective in his punch selection and maintained better distance in dropping his power more consistently

He also did enter back into a weakened division, than as before. Prob the main reason why he pulled out of retirement twice....

Besides the power and strong beard Foreman had the arrogant attitude of not being intimitated by anyone, but being the intimitator. He had absolutely no fear and gave impression that he was coming to break your bones and make you suffer in the ring before the obvious outcome of the bout.

First mention of intimidation that I've seen in this thread :goodForeman was THE intimidator in the 1970's. I've heard Tyson wanted no part of him in the 1990's! As far as power goes, it's legendary how he hit the heavy bag.

I don't think Big George gets nearly enough credit for his second HW Championship. His list of wins may not be so impressive, but who else could come back after 20 years in retirement and win the HW title again in their mid forties? Big George is the only one I can think of and I don't see that ever happening again.

I had the honor to meet Big George in 1995. While shaking his hand I remember thinking "This is the hand that destroyed Joe Frazier" He gives you the impression of being a really cool guy....for a fckn killer :yep

He had very powerful punches including his jab and may have increased his punch resistance as he got older, also improve his pace to go longer distance.

Foreman from a technical stand point was weak, some of the stuff he was good at was timing, and occasionally a nice jab.

BUT he was a freak of nature, his maximal strength, bone density, ligament strength was through the roof, along with an Iron chin, huge one punch power, it was a tough ordeal.

The fact that huge punchers like Morrison, Briggs and Moorer chose to box him rather than walk through him which they did to other fighters show that when they hit him it was like hitting a rock, his intangibles was being a cement block moving slowly towards you....there isnt much to do but run.

His weight at his peak was 220-230....around 12 to 14 per cent fat.

Older foreman was 245 to 260 around 25 per cent fat.

He was not a small man by any measure.

To add only the Klitschkos would have any chance of contesting him now.

He was awful and wouldn't be remotely good in today's division. Captain Marvel beat him, as did Flash, Black Tiger, Kid Power and of course Proud Kilimanjaro.
