That was the reason why iv not bothered to respond since. These UFC joyboys just spend their time regurgitating 'fact's they've read on Shitdog, then come here and want to have a debate. Iv been watching MMA far to long to entertain that level of stupid. As i said i only recall one fight that looked suspect and that was Coleman Takada. Everything else is just hearsay and hoopla.

Ive never really got into the whole Pride vs UFC debate, for one it doesnt interest me plus I see Pride as an org that largely became popular because of the Japanese love for fads. The Pride format was never going to last anyway.

So I wonder if the selling out of a stadium had more to do with the love of fads in Japan rather than a genuine interest in the sport ?

Pride was great but it's gone now. Time to wake up to the future.

ONE FC is fun too - and the perfect example of why Pride fans need to stop living in the past when there's so much happening today to enjoy.

If there's a benchmark the UFC should be held to, it should be Pride.

I think a good realization has come up..

All the criticisms, that made the UFC supposedly better than Pride, the UFC is now dirty of as well, what with the filler fights, mob involvement, fixed and freakshow fights..

They are all happening in the UFC currently, where we couldn't comfortably say so two or three years ago.

Rampage brought it up before he left the UFC. He was trying to bring back the guy who fought, because he loved to fight, a guy who wanted to show the world he was somebody, and he was great, win or lose.

Just a different time now.. I think in part it's different because MMA skillwise is more refined towards rules and scoring.

Pride was able to create something of a real fight a lot of the time, maybe it was rules, maybe atmosphere and the fighters.. With the UFC it's completely up to the guys in the ring to provide us with a fight.. The rules promote Gay Guida tactics. Long sweaty greezy hair on dudes that don't shower, and like to glam rock gnp with their hair back and forth.

Imagine how an Aldo vs. Pettis fight would go off in Pride? Fuuuu.. The more I remember it, the more inadequate the UFC is.

Pride made itself bankrupt trying to make a show like the movie blood sport. The UFC is a promotion that considers revenue. Pride was an amazing fantasy. It was never going to last. But we've got the memories.

Allowing knees to grounded opponents would be a huge step up for the ufc. Stomps or kicks maybe not be wise of the supposed brutality but knees should absolutely be legal

It would help out American wrestlers immensely as well who they cater to.

Bankrupt? PRIDE went out of business because the Yakuza scandal went national. It had nothing to do with Bankruptcy. Prior to that PRIDE was holding successful shows abroad namely in Vegas. If the organisation was struggling financially why would they have wasted their time to go to the US.
I just don't understand half the crap that comes up in these cruddy PRIDE UFC debates. Its as though half these minions only started watching MMA yesterday.
