Our generation was robbed of the greatness of Ike ' The President ' Ibeabuchi.

  1. What did Ike do that makes so many people ride his nuts??? Ike was over-rated as hell Tua beat him but was ripped off the same Tua that Lennox toyed with:lol: he beat Chris Byrd so what, so did Wlad Klits twice very easily..
Why do people still keep bringing this ******* UP?? he hasn't fought in almost 10 years, and he's where he belongs in a ****ing cell eating oreo's, guy's a lunatic and a ****up, he might get parole when he's 60 if he lives that long **** HIM...

His whole aura will be somewhat inflated because he was undefeated, and managed to KTFO of Byrd, which is not easy to do.

Ike is refered to as being somewhat of a mythical destroyer type of personna, these days, and its probably somewhat deserved, too. He certianly did have vicious power and a very aggressive, Tyson esque style. Not to mention that he was built like Frank Bruno.

Couple all of those things, along with the fact that his career ended early, before he could be matched with any other big names, and you get a fighter who is now pumped up to be almost superhero-like. Given that Tua fought him to a close decision, Ike was probably not quite as promising as he's touted as being, but even if he was close, that would be something to watch.

I would have loved for him to have stayed away from crime, and continued in his career, as I think he may have went on to continue to do to others what he did to Byrd. LOL I think that Byrd win won Ike a large following, as so many wanted to see Byrd manhandled like that, and Ike certainly did manhandle Byrd...........WOW............

Ike was a stellar puncher, with good combinations, and technique, only man I seen that was able to go punch for punch with Tua, who at the time was a murderous puncher himself, and win the decision. He had everything you could want in a Heavyweight, with under 20 fights under his belt, with already a knockout win over Bryd and a fight of the year win over Tua, he was destined for greatness IMO, if anything, he would of destroyed the weak Heavyweights we got now, one clean shot from Ike would of put Wlad in a panic attack and eventually on the canvas convulsing.

Nice to see there are some posters who recognize just HOW ridiculously overrated this guy is. Of his 20 wins, 18 of 'em were against nobodies, and of the two that people know, only one was convincing.

That's hardly the resume of the next Tyson....

  8. Lesson of the day, this is what that poison they call food in Prison does to your body, rots your Heart, Kidney's Liver, etc, Don't be a **** up like this *******, and end up where he's at:-(
They are doing the right thing by keeping him locked up, guy's to psychotic to live in the free World..:thumbsup

He only had 19 fights I think, with wins over Tua and Bryd, name a Heavyweight that's fighting now that had a more impressive resume with under 20 fights? Dont say Povetkin either, the Bryd he fought was shot to ****, and Chambers is decent, but is a far cry from a prime David Tua.

Ike may be a little overrated, but I would hard pressed to pick anyone in the Heavyweight division now that could of beat Ike between 97-99, Wlad would of looked like a drunk Tara Reid falling all over the place, after getting hit by the first significant punch in the fight.

What I keep asking is, when will Ike be released? He was supposed to have a parole hearing last December but I can't find anything online about the result of that hearing or when will be the next hearing if he got denied

There will never be another Tyson. Ike was an entirely different entity, which is what made him all the more special.. and don't let the fact that they both wore black trunks let you think otherwise.

I don't hate Byrd, I'm just damn impressed that he did what he did to him. Byrd was one of the most defensively solid fighters in the division, like a fish out of water, yet Ibeabuchi was able to time him with one of the hardest shots Byrd has probably ever been hit with. And even before the knockout happened Ike was dealing with Byrd's tactics pretty well, a lot better than most fighters ever had in his prime, save for the Klitschko's who practically dwarfed Byrd.
