If Canelo wins his next fight, will Floyd fight him?

If Floyd fights the winner of Canelo V Trout I would be very surprised and would say it will be his first non-cherry pick since he beat Judah for the WW belt in 2006

So in other words, I can't see it happening

 

I say no also. Floyd does not want to fight top guys with momentum who are strong. If Canelo looks very very beatable he might fight him, but I doubt it. As for Guerrero, Guerrero is good, but not that good.. He is better than Ortiz, but not a lot better and Floyd should be able to win a 116-112 UD. We all made a big deal about Floyd fighting Cotto because it is the best guy he has fought in a long time, and he had to fight, yet Manny fought that level in every defense.

most of them. He fights the guys who have the biggest wins at the moment who are not the best fighters, or guys with big wins who are at the end of their career. Look at when he fought Mosley or Delahoya, when both were finished and beatable. Cotto had a complete career when Floyd fought him. Ortiz to be honest is barely championship level Marquez was smaller and a slower counterpuncher. He never fights the big fights when they are there for him. He handpicks. I knew the night Guerrero won that Mayweather would fight him. If there is a way to go back and see my posts on that night, I said this is who he will fight next. A guy who doesn't have much power who edges his fights with decisions. If Floyd cannot beat Guerrero he should retire. No knock on Guerrero, who is a great guy and a good fighter, but not in Floyd's level. I always said Floyd could have beaten Manny had he just had the courage to fight him. But something about Manny made Floyd back out.

Good post. He's very clever and selective in who he fights.

But in regards to Canelo, I think he'd be insane not to fight him. Moderate risk with huge rewards. I say moderate because, no matter how "old" Floyd is, Canelo is still too green and nowhere near the level to beat him. He comes in the exact mould of the above fighters. After he beats the **** out of Guerrero, ain't no chance in hell he will not fight Canelo.

So the answer is No. There'll be some bul**** reason like He's not a 154 fighter anymore, which his fans will lap up and repeat.

He's not fighting canelo right now, so i don't see why he will later either.

It's not Floyd's fault Mosley was older, it's not Floyd's fault Marquez was slower. Is he supposed to wear heavier gloves or something to accommodate him? It's not Floyd's fault Pacquiao can be outboxed, or Floyd's fault that Cotto is slower than him or that Corrales' jab was lesser or that Castillo was vulnerable to lead rights and circling out.

He just has to fight and win and it's what he does.

I'm sure you have a million reassons why these fights didn't happed, but fact is there's been plenty of tough fights available, he just always gets away with avoiding them.

Mosley had a better chance but turned the fight down.

The only one that stands a chance is Martinez and I would love for it to happen :bbb
