So Canelo wants to give us 2 good fights back to back but he is the bad guy?

Floyd won't even acknowledge it. Schaefer will keep his offer to Canelo in tact, which is a generous purse and a soft touch for 5/4 and it will be up to Canelo to accept or not.

Either way, it's becoming less and less likely that we see Canelo vs Trout in May or anytime in the near future.

Canelo is afraid he will lose to Trout and his career will tank thereafter.... guy has fought NO ONE of importance EVER.

He'll say no imo. Floyd prides himself on being composed under pressure. The world wanted to strong arm him into dropping his OSDT demands with pacquiao. He responded with **** you by maintaining his stance

Besides, he just got out of jail. His need for freedom is at an all time high. I don't see someone forcing an obligation onto him

    :yep

Ellerbe should send a statement to the major outlets:

"Due to Canelo's ultimatum and subsequent demands, we are removing him from consideration as a potential Floyd opponent for late 2013."

I'd imagine the backtracking from Canelo would be legendary followed by his signature on the dotted line for May 4.

I agree completely. Floyd's in the driver's seat here. All he has to utter is the completely commons sense "If Canelo loses the PPV is hit hard."

This is boxing. If Canelo wants a guaranteed payday not tied to performance he should try getting a union or government job.

Of course there is always excuses for PBF.

I dont get it. The best thing for us fans would be for us to get the Trout fight in MAy and the PBF fight in September but the fanboys just are not interested in that and justify PBF clearly ducking.

if Canelo does not beat Trout than a September fight vs Floyd is not the best thing for fans. Canelo wants the fight win or lose which is pure crap

you're acting like it's guaranteed Canelo's gonna win. There's a reason Shcaefer is trying so hard to make sure Canelo doesn't fight him

I agree it would hurt Floyd's PPV if Canelo didn't fight on the undercard, but not as much as people think, in my opinion. Despite what Floyd says, I'm not sold on him fighting multiple times a year. He's not going to guarantee a fight with ANYONE, let along an unproven Canelo.

Didn't Floyd just go on a rant about fighting Alexander because he calls the shots at the end of the day, nobody is going to pressure him into facing anyone? Now I'm assume that was only to bring more positive responses to the Guerrero fight, but I believe he still feels he calls the shots and will not be dictated to. Canelo is simply not going to get this guarantee, probably more so now than before because he keeps saying it like he has control of the situation and Mayweather.

Well if this doesnt happen I think it is fair to say Canelo should be forced to fight 1 of these.

    Trout
    Lara
    Vanes
    Angulo
    Molina

Although I would like Molina to take on Smith and take his belt.
