People Who Think Price can "Pull a Wladimir"...

    ...and still rule the division. Are you kidding me?

    Accomplishing what Wlad has by going from nearly back to back TKO defeats to one of the longest reigns in HW history doesn't happen often.

    Let's look at the situations: Pre-Steward Wlad was around Price's age when he had his downfall. He was a gold medal winner with a very good amateur pedigree and around 40 fights, with notable wins over a lot of good, solid competition. He was a highly skilled and talented fighter who was overly aggressive, causing him to either get caught or gas out in his defeats.

    Price: He is 29, has a mediocre amateur background, and only 15 fights at HW against garbage competition, not a good solid win in the bunch. His overall skillset is BAD. Sloppy footwork, terrible defense, poor ring IQ, and overall crude craft. He does NOT have the reservoir of talent/experience that Wlad had to become reborn into a success.

    The only thing Price will "pull" is a Tye Fields. There is NO comparison between the talent levels of Wlad and Price; Price is simply not capable of accomplishing great things at HW.

    Price was knocked cold on his ass by a glancing arm punch. Wladimirs punch resistance and over all skill set is 1000 x better than Price. Not saying he can't have a sucessful career but he will never accomplish what Wlad has.

    It will be a long time before a heavyweight as dominant as Wlad comes along again, Price is not the man to emulate him.

    Yep highly unlikely he can do what Wlad did. Wlad is more talented, Price won't have a Steward to guide him and Wlad had all the basic tools much like Lewis before Steward refined them both. Price doesn't even had a good jab, he paws with his jab, he almost never fully extends his jab or puts any pop behind it.

    I think Price can still win a title but the longevity of his championship most likely will not be as long. I don't think it is wise to judge a fighter by the result of a single fight whether that result is good or bad. Price may not have a rock solid jaw, but at the same time, he doesn't appear to be feather-fisted either. All active heavyweights suck anyway, it's been that way forever too. Just find some really old boxing magazines and you can read how the heavyweight division has been devoid of any talent for the past 100 years.

    What Wlad has done is pretty much unique. You're never going to see another heavyweight with such a bad chin have so much success. He's an anomaly.

    Well stated. Agree.

    Price might be able to salvage some kind of a career, but highly unlikely will come close to what Wlad has accomplished.

    The thing is, Price should've never been in with Thompson at this stage in his career.
    They rushed him, the *******s, and it looks like they ruined him. I was worried about this from the start.
    Price was at least 3-4 years away from taking a step up like that.
    Shame on his management.

    Rushed, maybe. He probably should've had one intermediate fight before Thompson. Yet at the same time, if you're a 29 year old HW looking to make it big, and you can't get past a shot, fat, slow 42 year old Thompson, you probably weren't going to do **** anyway.

    If they waited 4 years he would be stepping up at 33 years old. That's WAY too old to step up.

    i think you're right here, he didnt look ready in there but i bought into the hype becuase i wanted him to be ready
    the sweet science is more important when HW punches are flying at you

    Khan has a better shot of coming back stronger than ever since he was more proven than Price was before a big KO occurred. People don't realize that Wlad is a rare athlete. The dude is an Olympic gold medalist and went under the training of one of the greatest minds in boxing in E. Steward who is no longer around. You can easily say, "If he can do it, I can do it" to serve as motivation but the truth is...not all men are born equal when it comes to talent.
