Honestly, if Morrison fights on the back foot like he did against foreman Toney is gonna hugely struggle. I mean when Peter can outjab you it's gonna be a big ask to beat someone with quicker feet and quicker hands. Obviously Toney has a punchers chance here and if he can time a huge right and pull the trigger he might be able to end matters with a good combination. I pick Tommy to do it on points though.
This is pretty much how I see it too, Too bad Morrison didnt use this style more, it was pretty effective when he did. He was always going for that huge knockout that fans love, truth be told when Morrison wanted to be he could be more then just a slugger.....who can blame him for always throwing that beautiful left hook thou.... This would have been a hell of a fight for the fans.
I believe that Toney, even at HW, had some really fast hands... I'd pick Toney because Morrison would've dominate early on, but his lack of stamina and Toney's mix of defense/chin would've meant trouble for The Duke in the latter rounds. Toney's a hard guy to KO.
Toney looked awesome against Holyfield. I have to pick him. I don't think Morrison would be as compelled to box on his toes as he was against Foreman, and, like Facts pointed out, Toney presents a different set of problems than Foreman. I don't see an incredible stylistic difference between Holy and Morrison, to tell you the truth.
That style worked on Foreman because Foreman took Morrison lightly and didn't train properly. According to Foreman's brother George was so busy worrying about that sitcom he had back in the day that he rarely trained for that fight. Read and learn boys and girls.
The Duke turns his Lights Out.... Are you guys serious look how much damage Sam Peter did, the Duke with his speed, skills and combinations would KO Toney.
Or maybe because anyone with any kind of speed or skill could **** old Foreman up Morrison beats Toney ... whether anabolics are involved or not
The Toney that beat Holyfield would beat Morrison easily, a real one sided beating over 6-8 rounds. Bust him up, knock him down really hurt him. Tommy Morrison had a big left hook, and if you were stupid enough to get hit by it (see: Razor Ruddock) he could beat you. But he couldn't fight a lick and Toney would beat him nearly to death.
Agreed 40 year old zombie holyfield was leagues better than prime Morrison:roll: Couldn't fight a lick? He beat Tillis, Thomas, Hipp, Williams, Ruddock and Foreman
None were prime but most were very good/great fighters. Morrison also took all of them bar Foreman out in dramatic fashion. If fat, slow, crude Peter could beat Toney why not Morrison who was better in every department bar chin.
