I was just thinking that if Ayala happened to upset Abraham, the real loser would be Pavlik. Duddy and Lee were both big money fights on the horizon, and both were knocked out of contention by guys they were suppose to walk right through. If Ayala happens to beat AA, that makes 3 big pay days down the tube. Does Ayala have any chance of winning?

Even though I'm picking AA to win I would not be surprised at all if Ayala pulls it off...
As for Pavlik losing out on another payday..it sucks however this is boxing, every fight cant be a megafight...adding to this is the fact that theres not a whole lot of depth at MW which is where Pavlik has decided to stay for at least awhile......on the same token I couldnt have imagined Lee or Duddy making a fight with Pavlik a PPV event

I thought Ayala beat Mora, but he lost to Banks twice. Ireally can't see an upset.

I really can't see an upset happening here. Abraham is simply a higher class of fighter than Ayala and will probably stop him as well. Does Abraham really plan on fighting Pavlik? He seems to be getting comfortable taking on a lower level of competition since the Miranda match. You can't help but to get the feeling Abraham might stick to beating up these type of fighters over in Germany for the remainder of his career. That would be a shame because he and Pavlik make for a really big middleweight showdown.

Abraham has beaten solid contenders in Demers, Ghevor and Elcock (since the miranda fight), all of which were top 15 ranked MWs. Ayala is coming off an impressive performance against Mora. He's probably better or just as good as the Brit Pavlik isfighting.

These two will both collide soon and one of them will get KTFO. Both guys are bangers. AND Ayala is going to sleep!

This is a man who drew with the great Latin Snake! The sky is the limit for Ayala.

he wont fight Pavlik next. according to his promoter Abraham will fight on Pavlik's undercard next, and they both fight on the same card (Duddy vs Pavlik, and Abraham vs ?) in separate bouts in september 2008.
According to Abraham's promoter his boy and Pavlik will square off against each other either at the end of this year or at the beginning of the new one.

Abraham exposed in the states? He hasnt been exposed by good opponents in europe so why the hell should he be exposed in the states by opponents who are not better that the fighters he has already defeated in europe.
Abramam may lose big time against Pavlik, but he wont be exposed by fighters like Ayala or Lorenzo.
Who knows? Pavlik may be the one who will be exposed when he faces Abraham. Have you ever thought of this?:D

what's the point of pavlik fighting duddy besides money? duddy is this brawler like type from the 40s whose face will get beaten to a bloody pulp when he faces a class opposition. abraham should fight duddy and after he demolishes him face pavlik in the biggest mw fight around.

    Could Miranda make 164 pounds?
I wonder if Abraham and Miranda can figh at a catchweight IF Abraham (or his promoter) is serious about fighting in the US to hype a Pavlik fight.

    In my opinion the top 3 at 160 are;
    1)Pavlik
    2)Wright
    3)Abraham.

I can easily understand why the business folks involved want to make Pavlik/Duddy. Because Duddy and Pavlik both have large fans bases these guys can sell out MSG in a matter of hours, and the fight comes with a guaranteed international television audience. I also think that Duddy's poor performance against Smichet was something of a fluke. Duddy's entire team was lookng so far past Smichet that they hired Ross Thompson as a sparring partner because he is one of the few who ever made the distance aginast Pavlik. I expect to see a much better John Duddy if he gets a shot at Pavlik. He'll still get KTFO, but he'll look good doin' it!

The ideal scenario would be to have Abraham/Wright for the IBF title on the undercard. The winner fights Pavlik. Wright could really sweeten the pot by beating Sturm in the mean time. That would make for a huge night of boxing. Pavlik/Duddy; two enormously popular fighters headlining, and Abraham/Wright in a title unification bout/Eliminator as the co-feature. Hey -- I can dream can't I
