as long as you havent been in overtraining mode for too long you might find that when you come back from your week off you feel like a ****ing beast.

I know that feel mate. Im having exactly the same symtoms and decided to give myself some break. I was training 5-6 times a week for the past 2 months. I train boxing for 2 years now and even though I love it it wasnt a good idea to go so hard. Its still too early to train so often. Maybe in a year or two I will develop proper fitness level to be able to train like that but for now Im cutting down to 2-3 sessions and no sparring untill I feel fresh again and then stay at 3-4/week with one or two sparring sessions maximum.

Cold/hot showers and sauna made me feel much better for now.

Don't take a week off, that's way too long and will delay your progress. Take a day off, maximum two. If your break is too long then you'll fall off track.

A week is "way too long"? How did you work this one out? I think traing at a lower level than you're capable of due to overtraining would have more of a negative than having a week off.

Are you training for a fight, or just working out? Because, you know, when you are training for a fight, you are training to peak at a certain time and place. You cannot train like that all the time. Ain't good for you.
