    I was comparing and contrasting and this is a very hard choice and you may have to give the winner of their close bout the nod here


    Trinidad

    1. Became one of the youngest WW Champions in history with a KO victory over Blocker to win the belt at the age of 20 years old

    2. Held the belt over 6 years with 17 title defenses and unified the titles

    3. In three fights at SW he won two seperate titles and solidified himself as the lineal champion, only stayed in the division for 8 months

    4. Won MW championship with a brutal KO victory over Joppy to win a title in his third strait wieght division


    De La Hoya

    1. Won titles in 6 different weight divisions which has been done by no one else

    2. The highest grossing non HW attraction of all time

    3. Was part of the biggest boxing fight in history ( Revenue wise)

    Anyone with two eyes and a score card knows that DLH won the fight between the two of them. As for careerwise DLH hands down he fought the better competition and what has Tito really done the last five years. He got exposed and basically hasn't beaten anyone except Mayorga since Hopkins beat him.

    For the 1 millionth time, and this has to be the most talked about thread of the past 10 years.

    1. Oscar is a more well rounded fighter as far as skills, BUT

    2. I would ALWAYS spend my good hard earned dollar to watch Tito fight as we was special, just a monster in the ring in his prime.

    Oscar is "smarter" and calculated..............I mean look his groupies think he beat Floyd and will probably pay to see that sparring session again. I actually heard a poster TODAY indicate that Oscar "exposed" Mayorga. lol
    (1) fighting Vargas after Tito "detonated" that fool, remember Oscar stating he would NEVER fight Vargas, BAMN 5 kds later lol:nut
    (2). fighting Mayorga after Tito "detonated" that fool knocking him down and out after that had NEVER happened before, low and behold here comes Oscar.

    Tito is much more the "gladiator" who dared to be great.

    Oscar basically fought Tito's leftovers. (Oba Carr, Vargas, Mayorga)

    I would rather be Oscar the "person" as he's an executive and will continue to rake the dough, but as a "fighter" give me Tito ALL DAY.......

    Nope. Tommy won belts in 5 divisions: 147, 154, 160, 168 & 175.

    Ah, you do know that Mayorga is Oscar's ONLY win of the last 5 years, unless you wanna count the Sturm "win":roll:

    And I bet you'll be "forking" your hard earned watching your boy lose again to Money Mayweather.:hey

    WOWWWW, Trinidad accomplishes all this stuff by the age of 28 years old before retirement just to have someone who know's nothing about boxing state De La Hoya hand's down:nut Obviously you need some more info on Tito's career, either way you pick it's a close call. And I have two eye's and a scorecard and I scored it for Tito along with the whole HBO crew and the Judges

    Oscar De La Hoya has had the better career. He has a deeper resume and has won more world titles than Trinidad.

    He is talking about recognized world Championship titles. The only recognized world Championship titles are the WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO.

    As far as better welterweight I would give the nod to Tito. When taking their whole carreers I would give the nod to DLH for his better competition (which in turn gives him more losses). Tito didn't wrack up losses cuz he retired after each loss:lol:. If he hadn't retired his win/loss ratio would be equivalent to DLH. That being said, these are the two ATGs of their weight class in that given era. Its like trying to decide who's better between Leonard and Hearns, depends on your palate.
