If your not familiar with the lack of racial equality in the very early 1900's you're beyond my help.

Sure is b. To now imply that Harry Greb was the product of "white" men cannot go unchallenged. Where does it end ? Einstein was a product of whites to bolster up their ego.? Joe louis was a product of black pride to right the wrongs of society ? No ,Harry Greb tackled every race of fighters, and for this poster to demean the memory of Harry Greb's greatness untainted by racial prejudice, is a new low by a misguided poster...atsch
Unbelievable ignorance, that this could from any boxing fan. There comes a time, when any of us finding ourselves on the losing end of an argument, has to decide if we're gonna man up and admit if we got it wrong, or continue whinging and making excuses. You've had chapter and verse quoted at you, and you're still trying to wheedle your way out of admitting the truth. As that wonderful article that Surf-Bat posted testifies...Greb's awesome record speaks for itself. He won the respect of boxers and fight aficionados of all races. Hasn't it occurred to you that there are specialists on this forum who often know far more than a Wiki article? Even if you managed to find one of Greb's fights where you think questions are raised, with ol' Harry there'll be another two dozen to prove he's the man.
It was very biased writing at the time. It was for policical reasons the white man had to win. When Johnson won it caused riots and multiple deaths.. Dont look to blame me if you dont agree with that....... I didn't pass any judgement on Greb himself as im not eduacted enough, just on the consenus of racial inequality.... If you dont think fights were fixed and writings glorified in favour of white men its naiveity......
