Leaving aside their contractual obligations for a second. If Gavin or Saunders had the opportunity to leave that sinking ship called FWP, does anyone else think Hennessey would be the best place for them? After all the hype when they turned pro, both of these have become stagnant over recent times. To be fair, as long as they are fighting regularly any promoter would be better than the one they have. At this time in both their careers, I doubt either could really turn their nose up at terrestrial exposure. I cant quite put my finger on why, but I am not sure either would fit in with Matchroom right now. Plus the risk of Eddie making McCloskey v Gavin is just too much for me bare. Thoughts?
That'd be the worst thing that Gavin could do. He'd be fighting bums. These two should go with either Matchroom or Golden Boy.
Can't see golden boy touching either of them with a barge pole to be honest!! If they where to leave I can see them fitting in better with Hennessy rather than matchroom!!
If there is mass exodus of fighters then they all can't go with Matchroom. Hennessey is an option if you want exposure rather than money.
Been told to expect more departures in the next few days /week. Remember this how can Frank afford to go to court as everyone knows W Promotions Ltd are insolvent!
Don't think Gavin has the style for terrestrial, wouldn't be a good signing for Hennessey. BJS would maybe be better suited and would set up a potential Eubank fight down the line.
My thoughts are that fighters should be active, if there in-active the first thing to rectify is that! second to this is oppponent selection (if of-course top level fighters have been so in-active that they need to re-tune). Frankie Gavin and Billy Jo Saunders are not as active as they should be, like everybody in Franks stable, in-activity is the word I associate with most of his stable, past and present. It seems the others can still get there guys out! Maloney is obviously another exception to this rule, but I imagine he'll call it a day if/when he and Price part ways.
