The whole experience was distressing to watch to be frank. Toneys knee had gone and it made him just about a sitting target but even if it hadn't he would still have looked just a shell.
Incorrect. He will get no accolades for it at all, in fact it will be regarded as a pretty shameless act. If he had done it a decade ago then yeah, well done. If he does it now he should hang his head. He might as well be fighting Paul Williams, it's ****ing disgraceful. Also Danny Green got absolutely no respect KOing RJJ, with casual Aussie sports fans who know **** all about boxing maybe but certainly not with anybody who actually follows the sport. Seeing RJJ in that fight was deeply saddening. No boxers should accept fights with RJJ or Toney, there is absolutely no reason to fight them.
Was always a big fan of Toney going right back to his pre Nunn days. The fact he's still aloud to box now, in the condition he's in, is absolutely disgraceful.
Green's name was slashed across the sports pages of most countries and all over the Net following his KOing of Roy Jones Jnr. Should it have been? Perhaps not. But it was. If you didn't see that you didn't see that you must have been on the moon that week. Time will tell how much publicity Browne receives if he becomes the first man to stop Toney - it needs to be signed first too by the way.
I have no problem with boxers fighting on into their 40's! But i have got a problem if they live like complete ******s, Nutrition/supplementation and training wise. James Toney is in a bad state physically, and has been for many years. He has got health issues, and i am not even talking about anything psychological/cognitive. I have noticed even Roy Jones is beginning to be a lazy fat *****! Not as bad as James Toney though. James Toney & Roy Jones where both by far more talented than Bernard Hopkins. But i even think Roy Jones just these past few years, has gone into ****** mode outside of the ring.
Roy Jones doesn't act brain damaged, Toney can barely string a sentence... it's a fair bit different. Jones had just beat Lacy and Sheika, Toney has just lost horrifically a weight class below a year back and beaten the always **** Bobby Gunn via injury.
Roy Jones has admitted to having constant dizzy spells and was desperately in search of a doctor who could "turn the clock back for him". Toney and Jones are both showing worrying signs and both seem to have some kind of death wish.
Did he admit this before the Green fight? Jones then was better than Toney is now is the point I'm making.
Not sure if Jones admitted it prior to the Green fight. May have? Too long ago. Toney and Jones. Bad and bad? Bad & worse? How much difference does it make?
Yes Toney is old, slurs and shot but he is fighting a guy who has only had 15 boxing fights in his career. He has no AM experience whatosever. He wants to fight on so what's the problem? He's a grown man.
