Bernard Hopkins - Tavoris Cloud

Probably gonna record this fight. I'd love for B-Hop to win, but I think Cloud takes it on points.

 

I hope Hopkins would win and Iwouldn't put it past him. Cloud's not really impressed me tbh.

Hopkins gave Dawson the victory due t his obsession with being to pin point with his work. Chad Dawson was stressed and breathing hard in-between rounds, i slated Bernard Hopkins coming into the fight because..? I thought he was a deadman against Dawson, and i still beleave he was play acting in their first fight: A calculated move by Hopkins.

If you really think about it, Dawson has done nothing but he abused since he fought Hopkins.

I think Hopkins stops Cloud.

He does not need to turn back the clock, he went 12 rounds with Chad Dawson at 175, and made it competitive! was technically the better fighter in my opinion, and landed the more eye catching shots! But he was beaten by workrate, and his obsession to be too pin point and fussy.

If Froch beats Kessler! I hope Froch moves up to 175, and then gets school badly by Hopkins.

 

I think Hopkins will take this relatively easily on points, in a pretty uneventful fight.

Cloud is pretty basic, was confused pretty badly by a shot Clinton Woods, and hasn't appeared to have improved since then.... he was beaten by Glen Johnson too I thought.

Fighters that trouble Hopkins have something different - Chad Dawson was young and has handspeed (despite being empty headed) and Pascal was athletically gifted and threw unorthodox shots.

Hopkins has made a career out of taking the **** out of heavy handed punchers with basic boxing skills, he'll have forgotten more than Cloud will ever have known about inside fighting too.

To me, unless Hopkins is completely gone, you'd have to either out-box him for 12 on the outside, or completely overwhelm him in close with a high work rate.

If you can't do those, you aren't winning.

Why any ****er would even contemplate stepping in the ring with him is beyond me.

Pascal is not ruined.

Dawson is ruined though.

Its the psychological impact more than anything!

Dawson just seems like a monged out person, who is confused and angry.

It was a ******ed decision for Dawson to fight Ward at 168.

Really looking forward to this fight and hoping age can be the deciding factor. Hopkins is an ATG and his performances at his age have been inspirational but I'm sick of watching him fight. I hope Cloud sends him into retirement.

 

I don't think Pascal will be the same fighter to be honest, that he was before he fought Bernard. Nobody is, ever.

He was extended ten rounds by some clown who Cleverly whacked and put away inside four, which tells it's own story really.

He'll still beat Dawson again though :yep

 

People talk about Hopkins lack of workrate in the Dawson fight but Dawson's stance and range effectively made him gun shy and appear 'shot'. Well that's what I think anyway.

Tonight Hopkins should really do a number on this guy if he's got anything left. I was surprised at how small Cloud is and Hopkins should feel comfortable that he can keep distance without much trouble. Basically everything points to 5/4 odds on Hopkins being an absolute gift but at his age I just don't trust B-Hop. Those first few rounds in the first Pascal fight were ridiculous, and he could find himself in a similar mess tonight if he's not completely switched on.
