used to box, I now train judo and BJJ. I've had plenty of MMA experience in real life situations :yep
Never got in the cage but I've done everything else at one time or another. Relson always taught us that if you fight for money - God don't bless.
Nah but I'm thinking of starting to train again and might give it a blast. I would rather do am boxing but there's no club near me to join so I suppose its the next best thing if I want to compete in combat sports. This tournament is the one I would be looking to enter (a former training partner entered before but was dominated and KO'd by a knee) http://www.facebook.com/events/275676672550274/
I am 1-1 in amateur MMA, not sure of my exact record in grappling but I have been in 4 tournaments and placed 3rd, 2nd, 1st and 2nd and I had about 15 amateur boxing bouts I was 11-3 or 12-3 some **** like that. My fighting days are over it seems sometimes that sucks thinking about it.
I was training to get ready for some local **** but my left knee started feeling like ****. Kept training, felt worse and worse until I couldn't train without losing my ability to stand up right for the next couple days. Realized that my dreams of fighting are probably gone forever. No cartilage in my knees. One leg kick and I'll be done for like some ol' Kimbo Slice ****.
I'm 400-0 (the loss against Ron Tripp doesn't count, because I ****ing say so). But I turned down 5 million to fight Sakuraba because let's face it -- homeboy ain't at my level.
