IB's indisposed till the HBO card, so he can't cover this. Therefore, I shall. :good Everything that applies with IB RBR applies here, of course. Barker and Rotolo already in the ring, being introduced.
Round 1 Rotolo circles left and right while Barker stalks forward, shooting the jab. Rotolo tentatively fires the jab a few times; Barker makes him miss, and starts to fire the right after some clinching. One BIG right connects, driving Simone to the ropes. Follow-up flurry puts Rotolo down onto his knees. Rotolo up and goes on retreat to last the round. 10-8 Barker
Round 2: Rotolo continues to retreat and Barker continues to stalk behind the jab. Barker dominates, but can't really land anything super flush. Rotolo seems hesitant to engage, which is understandable because he's getting popped every time he tries. Barker starts to find the range at the end of the round, and has Simone hanging on again at the bell 10-9 Barker 20-17
Round 3: More of same. Barker stalks, landing one BIG right hand near the middle of the rounds, but missing the hook that I think he wants to use as the payoff. Rotolo fires back a bit more this round, but is still getting outlanded by a fair margin. 30-26 Barker
Round 4 Rotolo actually has a bit more success at the start of this round, swatting at Barker with one twos and forcing him to adopt the high guard that he traditionally uses. This moment of success is abruptly ended when Barker whacks him with another big right, which hurts Rotolo and forces him into survival mode for the remainder of the round. 40-35 Barker
Hopefully Eddie is telling the truth about big fights and fighting regularly. These guys need to be fighting more than twice a year.
Rotolo retires during the rest period! Can;t blame him...He was getting his ass kicked from the start, and wasn't getting back into the fight no matter how hard he tried. Barker RTD 4 Rotolo.
He looked fairly sharp, though I think I agree with the previous post about him needing to fight a bit more often. He might have been able to finish Rotolo a bit earlier, I think...since Simone didn't really have anything beside movement to keep Barker away from him.
Wadi Camacho vs China Clarke 10 rds. Didn't catch all of the first round, but Camacho seemed slightly in front as he was able to back Clarke to the ropes. Neither guy landing effectively though both throwing a fair amount. Wadi continues to press forward and fire southpaw one twos, but Clarke has more success in the second round and is able to box in the center of the ring in the second round. I've call it even after two. Edit: This fight doesn't warrant individual round reports...at least so far. :yep Round three: Wadi's a little more effective with his sweeping southpaw lefts than Clarke is throwing the rainbow right hand. Not a lot of clean punching, but since Wadi was able to back his foe to the ropes more often than noe, he gets the nod in this round. 2-1 Wadi
man this card is so bad... cant believe that something like this is on sky. but well even Haye vs. Harrison was PPV
Round 4: This round warrants its own post. Camacho backs Clarke to the ropes, and has China looking disorganized for a while, but China fires back and forces Wadi back to the center of the ring. Both men slug away, without a lot of skill, but with a fair amount of venom. Big Camacho left catches China on the way in, but China steadies himself and punches back, landing a right of his own as the round ends. 3-1 Wadi.
