Barker vs Macklin HAS to happen!

Macklin will probably get half way through training camp and decide to switch trainers, and postpone the fight.

 

i hope barker macklin murray and Lee all fight each other. I think that Barker would beat all of them and quite handily as well

 

a super 6 with our middle weights would be unbelievable!..winner goes onto world title challenge....Barker

 

Interesting,the mention of Benn and Watson.Ive always thought that none of Barker,Macklin and Murray have beaten a live,dangerous world class middle between them.Could be wrong here but around the same age didn't Benn beat Iran Barkley,or Watson Don Lee?Macklin and Barker did well against Sergio,but so did Michael against McCallum,IMO a far better champion.
These guys will fight Im sure.Murrays up against it,but a win isn't impossible.If he does hell probably defend first against one of the others.If not,thyll happen anyway.

Sims is right, it going to take one out of Barker, Macklin, Murray or Lee to win a world title in order to make the fight.

Macklin will price himself out of the fight.

 

That's a decent comparison although Macklin is no Benn as has already been mentioned

 

This fight won't happen whilst he's with Lou DiBella and HBO. Barker-Lee/Murray may though

 

Barker- Lee will happen this year. I'd be content with that, although I'd prefer to see Barker- Macklin

 

macklin way too good for barker.all about workrate in that fight.as for macklin v murray i think murray is massively overrated

 

I'd like to see Macklin fight Barker I've wanted to watch that since the first fight got cancelled, I don't see there being a clear favourite but if Barker can live with the pressure Macklin will put him under early on then I think he can outbox him. Macklin only applies sensible pressure for the first 4-5 rounds then looks tired and ragged and easy to hit.

Barker is the better technician but Macklin has the engine and out put so it's an intriguing battle. I don't put Macklin much ahead of Barker if at all he has only stepped up to world level twice and was beaten both times the way he claimed the Sturm victory as if it was gospel was nonsense he gassed and lost the fight by two rounds, you don't score points for throwing shots that don't land.

 

I wouldn't class it as doing well, actually. Better than expected, although I think Macklin made a better job of it overall. Both still got smashed.

 

And as i have already said im talking about the style not the level of the fighter

 

Macklin v Murray - theres bad blood between them two.
Lee V Barker - looks likely that fight will be made this year.
Saunder V Eubank Jur - British title fight this year.

 

:-( They didn't get smashed. Barker was leading up until halfway through and Macklin scored a KD. Although Martinez did take over from 8 onwards, I'd say 'smashed' from then on....
