Reaction to B-Hop-Cloud card

    B-Hop turned a raging tiger into a capon. Never let him get set. Made it look easy. Showed the full bag of veteran tricks. Should be required viewing for young fighters.

    Picked Cloud before hand, but oohed 'n aahed at B-Hops mastery.

    As the rounds wore on, Cloud could rightly have sung: "I CAN'T GET STARTED WITH YOU"

    Agree Keith Thurman's the goods: Great hand speed, combos, wicked body punching 'n leverage. (plus media wise, he shows Andre Ward potential) He beat the hell out of a gritty veteran with a clam defense who kept marching forward under withering fire.

    Zavek didn't have a whiff of Thurman's talent, but he showed the courage of a lion; and may have exposed Thurman's Achiles Heel: a looping right over Thurman's low left, after jabbing.

    An opponent with a heavy right might make Thurman look like Louis against Schmeling in their first fight.

    Glad you enjoyed it JG! Shame they ruled the cut a foul when clearly Hops landed a hook at the end of the combo.

    I dont understand the jaws dropping when we've seen Hopkins control these types of stationary opponents time and again.

    I've been saying, Hopkins is a great fighters and he fought great against a pretty good but 2nd tier fighter.

    Hopkins did an exellent job considering his age, I just dont understand why people pick against a great fighter with all the know how's, against a 2nd tier fighter that knows nothing but to stand in front of another opponent.

    Why pick against Hopkins against the 2nd tier when we know he's always in peak shape and knows all the tricks in the book???

    I dont credit with neutralizing Cloud, from what ABel Sanchez was saying this is what he wanted, he wanted Cloud to try to box and pick shots, instead of being what he usually was.

    Great observations but the only real x-factor in the Cloud-Hopkins fight was Hopkin's age. Cloud is an ordinary champion.

    Thurman showed extra dimensions in his fight, showing he can work from the back foot quite well. Very impressive.

    It was a good night of boxing. I've been looking forward to Thurman's first proper challenge and he delivered. We learned he has a good beard, good endurance and I was impressed with his head movement. I look forward to what he does next. Hopkins Vs. Cloud ended exactly as I predicted. It was a historic fight. Yeah, a very enjoyable card.

    But then Cloud should've done what a good halfback does. When there's a set play 'n the hole's clogged, improvise 'n look for daylight.

    I've never been a big fan of Hopkins, but you can't look at yesterday's fight and not respect his performance. He looked like he was 38, tops. His ring general ship - preventing the other guy from doing what he wants - is second to none.

    Cloud was gifted his belt back twice against Johnson and Campillo. Fight was a farce from the start.

    Cloud was made for Hopkins.

    To beat him you need either reach, explosiveness or speed.

    Cloud really lacked all three.
