My issue is, why would he move back down to 140 after winning a 147lb title? There's a lot of good fights there.. And if he does move down, does he just hold one 147lb title hostage or vacate it? If he vacates is, why the hell did he go up and take it from Paulie in the first place? I just don't really get the move.... I'm lost as to what their plans are in the future for him, while before this announcement I was happy thinking he was going to climb up in weight cleaning out divisions.
The guys at 140 can move up. Another thing to think about is who is at 140 on HBO that is not top rank
If weight meant nothing, there wouldnt be weight divisions. And we are talking a legit weight difference. Paulie walks around in the 170s.
Good point. The kid is not taking a step backwards or even laterally.....he stepping up in every sense of the word. Now I see what some are saying about Lucas and Brandon because they are legit challenges but they both have options and facing Broner right now isn't really important. Fight the kid when he's a bigger name where the money would double. Let Broner work on building his brand so he can bring in more money for these other guys.
That's because Pac has already tested himself against great opposition prior to his jump in weight. Broner's current resume leaves much to be desired. Furthermore, despite the lesser weight, the guys at 140 pose a bigger threat to Broner than does Malignaggi, and so the 2 division weight jump, although impressive on paper, is not as astonishing as it sounds.
you realize there is no great opposition at Broners weight? Everybody at 140 is booked right now. After they are not booked they also have to be able to fight on HBO and not be Top Rank fighters
Man shut the **** up. He wants to stay active and there is no one available. Go watch tennis, ****in' pussies.
While Broner did dodge an entire weight class full of good fighters, there are still some great fights to be made at 147, that is if Broner doesn't dodge them. After the Paulie fight, it would be very interesting to see how he would fight against Guerrero or Andre Berto. Theres also Tim Bradley and Devon Alexander.
It's not healthy to move up and down in weight. This will damage Broner's boxing skills. We all know what happened to Roy Jones Jr after he dropped down in weight after the Ruiz fight.
Why do people talk like Broner can't move back down to 140 after this fight? Everyone at 140 is tied up anyway & imagine he jumped to 140 & didn't fight one of the big names, people would then claim he's ducking all the best guys at 140
