What is you're opinion about all these ex allegedly fighters signing with matchroom?

Things go around in cycles though. Hearn might be able to establish somewhat of a monopoly for now, but his fighters won't last forever, and other promoters will of course bring through other fighters and the landscape will again change.

But to be fair, Golden Boy have a pretty large "market share" in America, and it doesn't seem to have done their fighters any harm

 

Also, like Golden Boy, when a promoter has a substantial amount of boxers, if gives them less reason to protect their fighters, because the risk is a lot less. For FWP at the moment, they have few assets, so putting Clev in the ring with someone they shouldn't could prove to be fatal, for example.

 

you can say allot of things about Hearn, but being risk adverse is not one of them. he takes chances with his fighters from Prospects to World Champions.

As long as Hearn sticks to the same ethos that got him to the top of the tree, things will go well.

But there still isn't a division where Hearn has two main event fighters at the same level. So we can't say whether he will or won't match people.

 

Common theme with the above is they all fight once in a blue moon.

 

1 problem of hearn being the only game in town is he can drive the fighters money down i suppose but thats better than getting nothing at all

 

One possible good thing of a lack of tv dates is that some title fights will be on smaller, local shows instead of just being on tv shows all the time possibly helping to get more people to small hall shows e.g. jld cruiserweight defences.

 

how many dates into his sky deal is hearn and whats the time limit when its finished??

was it 20 with 6 prizefighters startin last summer??

whens it up for renewal??

i do think he needed a few good signings which hes doing to fill these dates as it was and to the standard sky wanted.

 

11 fights in so theres 9 to go from now until end of July. Nobody is 100% sure whether the Froch PPV counts.

what this shows is how important having a good reputation can be in this sport. People will say "its because hsi daddy has snooker" and "he threw all his daddys money at it" but the truth is Hearn took Matchroom from small hall promoter/TV booking agent to the in the top 5 promoters in the world and No.1 in the UK based purley off having a good reputation.

His fighters cannot speak highly enough off him. Have you heard any Matchroom fighter or even heard a rumour about a Matchroom fighter being unhappy in the 3 years since Eddie got involved? These fighters sign with Hearn and he delivers for them and thats got out to the rest of the boxing scene in the UK. Burns & Groves had many options but they chose Matchroom. You heard Rose talking about how he needed to improve to be able to sign with Matchroom!. 16 fighters trying to join!

Frank was on top for 15 years, some fighters loved him but there were always rumblings of discontent even in his peak.
