I think the first 2 times he had some decent reasons not to fight Broner and the third reason again he seems to have a reasonable excuse again with his current contractual situation.

But lets be honest the blame surely has to be at W@rr3n's feet It's not like he hasn't got a track record of making sure he avoids Big fights for his fighters Is It ?. :D

Golden Boy were saying that they wanted Burns next for Broner, so why wouldn't the fight be available?

Burns could have waited around a month to see if Vazquez turned up, but he chose to walk away from two big fights potentially.

I don't know how he was treated by F.W. (and postponements are a part of boxing), but what are his next two fights going to be now?

This is getting a bit daft now....however much people dislike ****** he can't be blamed for everything. If ****** had served Rees up for Burns next there would have been ****ing bedlam on here

Perhaps Burns is jumping ship because Fish Face was getiting closer to getting him a shot at Broner that he couldn't refuse?

I'm not suggesting this is actually what's happening, but Burns has earned a reputation for being somewhat selective with his opponents. People could be forgiven for thinking he was blatantly ducking Broner...

What reputation? He doesn't pick his opponents, he's stated before his preference fights but its promoter and managers job.

If Burns wanted tougher fights, he could have had them. A fighter might not be the one that actually makes the matches, but Ricky Burns isn't a mute, there's nothing to stop him putting his foot down and insisting on better opponents.

If my manager only gave me easy jobs at work I could either do as I'm told and take the money, or I just get him to give me some proper work.

I will give Ricky the benefit of the doubt at the moment, seeing as he is doing something proactive about his career. We shall see who's next, but it had better not be Gavin Rees (no disrespect to Rees).

People forget that both promoter and manager work for the fighter, not the other way round
