Its easy to see the difference between good and bad padmen.

The good padmen will spend nearly as much time talking as they do having the fighter hit the mitts.

The bad padmen will slap the pads down on the fighters punches and act like a cheerleadier.

He has his own thing, which works in a sense for muscle memory.

However the likes of Mayweather, Bradley and Alexander who all employ a slappy padwork technique have one thing in common.. low as hell KO %.

Look at the guys Steward trains with what on the surface looks mundane.. very high KO percentage. He is in there teaching leverage and genuine technique, he isnt there to make a few pop pop sounds.

it also depends on the type of mitts you have
These mitts will lead to it looking like that due to the shape of them on the bottom of the mitt, as they get hit they tend to move forward this helps keeping trainers from hurting their wrist

Its nothing to do with the type of mitts, its everything to do with what the trainer is looking to teach.

Right but I am pointing this out because allot of times people assume the trainer is playing patty cake with the fighter, thats not the case all the time....

it depends on where that shot lands on the mitt.... for example Ricky Hatton trash talking Roger and Floyd Mayweather, look from the out side it looks like Roger is hitting the gloves with his mitts, when in reality they are just working fast, you would expect that considering how long the two have worked together

Huge misconception when it comes to Floyds Mitt work

Wildcard is a huge rip off, they charge high rates and its no better than any other gym. You have to pay $5 every time you even enter the gym :patsch

if your a licensed fighter you pay 25 for the entire month... if you get the right trainer and are active you dont pay for mitts or private sessions...

if your there to just work out and take up gym space and not fight I understand them charging that much..... So i understand your point in saying its a huge rip off....

it shouldn't. It is just there to help the fighter get a flow with his punches, and some trainers use it to show off.

$5 is cheap to come in for a workout. Undisputed in San Carlos charges $20-$25. 3rd St charges $10.

Who trained you? I read that they have different trainers at wildcard and you pick which one suits you the best and that you can afford. Just seems really expensive for boxing.

Pepper Roach and Bo Dean neither of them charged me squat every now and then Pep would ask me for a couple bucks no problem I mean its not like he wasnt earning it anyways.

Problem is you ran into a scam artist, if you were not fighting and just there to learn how to box then yeah I could see them Charging you that was the deal from the get when Bo stepped in to help me out, because Peppers health wasnt and still isnt the greatest.

the deal was you fight or you pay.... Okay so be it..

However there are loads of them there who try to milk people I know exactly what your talking about but again I have to ask what your intention was in going there?

Did you compete? because if you didnt it makes allot of sense , why would someone just put in work for nothing? if anything you compete get the W or L and learn from it..... your learning and believe it or not as experienced as those guys are they are learning as well
