I would feel the same way if I left out the fact that Hopkins is 48 years old. Hopkins shouldn't be beating anyone at his age.

There's truth to what you're saying in that they're tailor made for him. But he is forty-eight and Cloud was the full IBF champ who made several defenses.
Not Hops fault that in another era Cloud would merely be a journeyman at best.

 

True. But at 48, cherrypicking is careful matchmaking, which I can respect. If Hop hadn't beat Cloud officially someone else would've, soon.

The guy has achieved more than 99.9% of current, active boxers. He is 48 years old. He should have retired a long time ago. The fact he can still compete at world level is special. He can be forgiven for picking and choosing his opponents, but then again, has he really been picking and choosing his opponents?

His last 5 bouts have consisted of the #1, #2(?) and #3 of the division. Twice against the guy you think he dodged and was forced in to. Makes sense.
