Gabriel Rosado vs J'Leon Love on BoxRec for May 4th

The hell is Rosado's management doing? He had a fantastic breakthrough 2012. Developing a good following, exposure on NBC, he was becoming an attractive money fight for the big names and they put him in the ring with GGG and now he's staying at 160. It'll be tougher for him and there's not much guys at middle that draw big crowds in the US. He would have been a world champion now FFS.

 

He should NOT stay at 160. Even though Love hasn't impressed me immensely, he'll likely make this a boring fight and win. Rosado should go back down and fight Angulo.

 

He is chasing the money, I don't think he will win but he can go back down to 154 after this, between this fight and GGG fight he'll make more this year than anyone thought he would

 

Taking the IBF belt off Bundrage would have probably earned him much more money in the future. A big fight with Alvarez or Cotto could have been on the horizon.

 

Yeah because it was making Bundrage a ton of money.

Rosado is taking a fight he can win impressively in front of the largest audience he'll ever have. His earning potential from this and the GGG defeat will be higher than beating Bundrage on NBC sports for a belt nobody cares about. Smith will be fighting Molina next, cha-ching.

I agree with this train of thought.

Horrible management.

Probably would have beaten Bundrage and, as you say, Alvarez and Cotto had mentioned him as possible opponents.

 

I pick J'leon Love, anyone who can beat Rufus Defibaugh has to be unbeatable. I do not think this win should be overlooked.

 

Different circumstances. Bundrage didn't bring much to the table and was a King fighter. He earned a lot of respect against Golovkin but being able to call himself a champion would help him get the big fights.

:good This was the first thing I thought. The stupid MF was the #1 contender for K9's belt. He should have waited for his chance. Now he is trying his luck again at MW. I don't know what him, or his handlers are thinking.

Floyd wasn't playing he isn't putting his fighters through cupcake **** anymore.

 

I think J'Leon can beat Rosado. I like Rosado, but he doesn't quite belong at 160. Not yet. Rosado could just as well beat Love, but J'Leon is much quicker and he boxes pretty well. I would not have take this fight is I was the Rosado camp.

 

Floyd making the kid fight someone-good on him for that,at least.Sink or swim time for Love.
