Gatekeeper in Berto v hard hitting prospect Thurman.

I was really impressed with Thurman in his last fight. I think he finishes Berto in round 7/8.

    Thoughts?

Thurman is going to stop Berto if they fight. Late, but he stops him.

If they fight, Thurman would stop Berto by the mid rounds for sure. Berto has been hurt and dropped by lesser fighters with even less power.

I like Berto in this fight, as long as he don't try that **** shoulder roll he tried agaisnt RG.
On that note would be a good crossroads fight for both guys.

    Prob won't happen tho.

Berto wins. Keith can't fight inside yet, and that's where Berto is weakest.

  7. I actually think Berto may squeek out a boring decision. Not the best fight for Thurman at this point IMO.

Not that Thurman can't KO the guy, I just think Berto will have flashbacks of Ortiz and Guerrero and decide to stink Thurman out.

Good fight. I love the "veteran fighting to stay relevant vs. young fighter trying to become elite" story line. It is probably my favorite.

Berto has the hand speed to give Thurman problems. However, when the going gets truly tough he tends to do just enough to lose closely. I'll take Thurman by close decision.

Take it from someone who knows!

Zavek says Thurman is much better! Of course Quintana knows this also.

Yeah Thurman did look much better against Zaveck, I don't think it would happen but after giving Paulie to Haymon should consider it.

I'm not all the way sold on Thurman, and if he allows himself to get hit like he did vs Zavek, I think this is a very winnable fight for Berto. People give Berto ****, but he's never been stopped, and has shown a ton of heart. I know how he'll react to getting hit with big shots...not so sure how Thurman would react. Be an interesting fight for sure, and for the record, I think Ortiz would wreck Thurman as it stands today.

I will say that for all his faults, Berto has heart. I've never seen him quit.

He's been in a number of wars too. Even the Zaveck fight was starting to look like a war.

I'm not sure I would put Thurman in with Berto at this point.

Berto doesn't have a chin though, so...

Berto seems to be getting worse with every fight. The guy has all the athleticism and physical tools in the world but his ring IQ is among the worse in the sport. In addition, his trainer is a ****ing joke who never gives good advice in the corner and clearly doesn't prepare him very well.

I'm not that big on Thurman, but I still pick him to beat Berto. Thurman KO.
