Pac goes up 2 divs to face Oscar, it's the greatest move ever. Broner goes up to 2

Hard hitting, one punch KO artist Paulie would annihilate Boner in less than 2 rounds. Boner's shoulder roll defense would be useless against Paulie.

Broner won't weigh in at 147, he will weigh in at 141-143, doesn't he weigh 150 on the night? it'll be just less weight cutting, he is depending on skill to beat Paulie more than actually being a full fledged welter, so yes it is easy to go up two weight classes for him.

Broner doing this will go someway for him to merit his P4P ranking, I just hope he goes back down to 140 or even 135 as I think Burns, Vazquez, Abril, Peterson, Matthysse, Garcia and Khan would look good on his resume and tell us everything we need to know about Broner.

I never said Broner moving up to fight Malignaggi carried the same magnitude as Pac moving up to beat Oscar

But if you're going to commend Pac/Guerrero for moving up, you have to commend Broner too.

Ffs Guerrero moved up and fought a nobody and it took him a year to make that transition (Yes I know his wife was sick in that time, but that move probably wasn't easy for him)

Broner's fight with Rees was his 2nd fight at 135 and he's still getting comfortable in that weight class. Now he's jumping 2 divisions to fight a good Malignaggi.

4 months apart from his last fight.... IT ISN'T EASY making that jump.

Some say Cano was robbed but many others have Malignaggi winning a close bout (That includes myself)

It is a step up in competition definitely from Rees.

Malignaggi beat the **** out of/schooled Senchenko, whom is a top 8 welterweight. He isn't exactly as feather fisted as most claims he is.

This moveup in weight is commendable. He's still very young and will probably go back and fight at the 140 weight class after this.

    Broner a G.

    Deal with it.

Because when Pac agreed to fight DLH, everyone -- that includes you and me -- thought he would be "KO'd by DLH's jab".
Pac's most legitimate wins came from the SFW division and below.
We all know Diaz was a weak opponent and Pac wasn't able to stop him cold with 1 punch like what he's doing in the lower weights.
So the general consensus was Pac ain't got the power to trouble DLH nor is he skilled enough to face a genius.

Broner, I like the kid, but Paulie is Paulie. He ain't DLH. He ain't punching hard either.
He's one of the paper champs of today. Like Ortiz was to Floyd.
I really don't think I need to expound on that further.
Plus Broner is way more settled at LW.
And I personally can see him as a solid JrWW.
I'd give him props for moving up, but if you think him moving up is similar to what Pac did after just one fight at LW, then you're a Broner nuthugger, nothing more.

    Hindsight is 20/20.
That's the main flaw in your argument.

I understand that. And the odds were pretty even, Pac was a bit of an underdog but it wasn't a big spread. So don't give me that "Most People thought Pacquiao was going to get destroyed by DLH's jab bull****"

Malignaggi's punching power is severely underrated. Did you not watch the fight with Senchenko, he beat him to a pulp and the ref had to stop it because Senchenko's face was so swollen

I clarified that the magnitude is not the same, but the fact that Broner is moving up to 147 only after 2 fights at 135 is commendable.

A 4 month difference only. Do you know how difficult it is to make that weight in 4 months comfortably?

Malignaggi is also a champion at the weight class, so it isn't like he's jumping to face some can like Mike Jones or Bailey. I don't want to hear that Malignaggi is a paper champion (He beat Cano). It was a very close fight, but Malignaggi won CLEARLY.

Malignaggi is a tough guy (Although his punching power isn't SUPERB, it's still decent) and he's a smart boxer.

If you're going to commend Guerrero, then you have to commend Broner too.

When Guerrero announced moving up to WW, people were giving him props and NO ONE bashed him even though the 140 division was still decent at the time. It's not as hot as it is now, but it was still a good division nevertheless.

I fervently believe (Wholeheartedly) that it is a race issue. If it was a non-black man, he would be commended for it. (I'm not turning this into a racial thing) but it seems to be true.

Guerrero moved up to face someone nobody has even heard of and he got praises for it even though the fight was only for a vacant interim title

Broner moves up to face a legitimate 147 fighter (A legitimate champion) and he's getting shitkicked by most people.

People tend to look at the cup half empty when you're arrogant and flamboyant like Broner and Mayweather. That's just the way it works, I guess. But yeah, hate or love him, you must give Broner credit for moving up to fight a bigger guy. Critics/haters ignore logic therefore you can't really expect them to make sense. But Broner has the goods to make these people depressed from seeing him win all the time.

Pac was expected to get annihalated.

Broner is expected to put a beat down on Paulie. So don't expect similar props for broner when he gets the win.

the only comparison is the 2 weight jump.

Well it's mainly because ODLH is a much bigger box office hit then say the magic man.

    But it's a great move @broners part.

Sort of different when you don't have one memorable win in any of the weights you vacated.
