Terrible commentary. What other way could Hatton fight? He only had one way. he was using the same tactics that worked all throughout his career on the bums he fought but not on pac or Floyd, or collazo actually. Same thing with Hopkins vs calzaghe. Calzaghe never fought someone as good as Hopkins and found out in the first 30 seconds that there was a difference between what he had fought and Bernard when he was sitting on the canvas. Hopkins won that fight imo. Hopkins would have done what ward did to kessler, fact. Kessler always been overrated. Don't get me started on lacy.

 

That commentary is ****ing exceptional.

 

You forget how many bombs Ricky took inside six minutes.

Hatton was a fine fighter in his prime, shame he wasted so much of it with the WBU.

 

I remember all that bollox about Ricky being "a reborn fighter" under Floyd Sr. He did well to beat the **** out of Malignaggi but fighting Paulie and then prime-Manny is like thinking you can pilot an airplane because you learnt how to drive a car. Massive difference.

After promising he'd be more patient and would break Pacquiao down slowly using his strength he just used the same high-risk, aggressive, come forward style and standing toe to toe and it was evident from the first bell, the same way it was when he fought Senchenko recently. Fighters like Ricky can NEVER change their style not matter what trainer they have. The same applies for Amir Khan now.

At the time I knew Ricky was past it but I didn't half expect him to get blasted out so quickly and brutally. Looking back now, I'm not surprised even in the slightest.

 

Nice video with good music. That's how it should be done. Watt's commentary is hit and miss, mostly miss, but that night was memorable. Those words from Watt seem legendary already. I'm a Pacquiao fan and I remember it clearly. Never been more nervous before a fight, and I wanted him to win so bad. Pac gets the knock down. Jim Watt shouting dramatically with his somber commentary all doom and gloom for Hatton, but Pac at his best, showing why he was pound for pound king. What a night. It's what boxing is all about.
