I know. In fact, it rarely does, but that's why I'm wondering if Cintron had good strenght lifts. Conditioner101 trained him.
if a public or sports figure can bench press 2.5 times his weight there will be video which marcos does not have. 135-pound boykins claimed that he could do 315 and, once again, no video. if you work out then you would know how incredibly strong someone is when he can do 2.5 times his weight. probably less than one percent of all professional athletes can accomplish this. two times your weight is a feat in and of itself.
He was a natural puncher. Weight room numbers were surprisingly poor when I first began working with him. Bench was 95 for 5 reps, and squat was 135 for 5 reps. At the end of the training camp for Teddy Reid he was benching somewhere around 265 for 5 reps and squatting 335-345 for 5 reps.
I know that its incredible strength I work out I know whats what. He can bench 200kg I guarentee you the guy is a strong like ox!
Tell me about it. I felt no ned to continue strength training, and chose to focuss mor on plyometrics to improve explosiveness. Unfortunately at that stage of his career he was pretty far gone.
Absolutely. The thing most dont understand is that strength training is a great tool. When properly applied it can enhance physical attributes. The thing is... it can not create what's not already there. No amount of weight training is going to turn Maliniaggi into a puncher. Kermit already was a puncher. So by increasing physical strength, and then training that new found strength to perform explosively... I was able to turn a good puncher into a great puncher.
