Do you believe Povetkin or Sauerland will risk a career high payday on a voluntary? Where a serious injury or lose would be horrid. Or will Sauerland be satisfied playing the waiting game, and risk ring rust, and the possibility of hurting Povetkin's already questionable conditioning. If so, list some potential opponents that you could see getting the voul. I know over at Ring today they had an article suggesting Bhop facing him in the future, with the possibility of becoming the oldest heavyweight champ in history. But I can't take that serious, as I don't think it would be enough time for Bhop to gain the necessary weight in a professional manner.

Povetkin is a ducker and a joke. However, Hopkins would get flattened within 5 rounds.

Well it wasn't to long ago when Haye held his belt, that Hopkins kinda called him out. Either way, I didn't intend while making this topic, that Bhop was gonna be the guy, or the only guy i thought would be considered. It was just a name thrown around over at Ringtv. I was just trying to to get the feel for who ESBers thought would be the guy.

For the legacy it would be the best if he wins against Povetkin in a Heavyweight title fight.
But this is just a dream...

For a voluntary I'd put him in against some low-risk old opponent ala Rahman just to keep him active until Wlad. There are quite a few available right now. I know such guys shouldn't get title fights and I hate to say it, but I find nothing wrong with them for the sake of activity. They won't prepare him for Wlad, but there's no way Sauerland would match him with a legit opponent now.

There are around 10 names in the WBA top 15 that Povetking beats without that many problems.

Hopkins is a bad move, B-Hop negates opponents in the ring, it's gonna be an ugly fight.

first of povetkin is champ of nothing he is not even a paper champion not even belt holder or titlist.

ruiz was belt holder valuev was chag was then valuev got paper belt when chag was ko'd by wlad!

so valuev became paper belt holder and after him haye.

what povetkin has is"world" toilet paper belt. i class that title same as intercontinental title or something like that.

Hopkins wouldn't gain anything from that! it's not even similar to what roy and toney did to take ruiz title!

i agree that the title means **** but 48 yr old Hopkins beating Povetkin and taking his 0 would be a hell of a victory

that said i really dont see Hopkins doing it

nice win but nothing historical and no new world record as oldest champ, it would not be fair to big George if he beat his record this way and btw i wouldn't count it like i said previous,

oh no i would leave Big George as the oldest hwt champ as well

counting regular titles is like counting interim championships or silver belts or any of those other plastic toy belts you find at Kmart

    :rofl:patsch

Hopkins isn't going to negate a Heavyweight he would get thrown around like a Ragdoll. All his one punch then coming in for a clinch, wrestle, hold, grab, etc. wouldn't work he would get pushed off and then punched by Povetkin.

Hopkins only hope would be a headbutt and a cut ruled by a punch. That would be it.
