Talks about potential future opponents. Before the first Salido loss, this guy was on top of the world, but how soon they get forgotten after losses. This guy could fight Salido 10x and probably lose all of them. He's still got some good fights left in him I'm sure. He's willing to fight the best, so gotta love that about the guy.
And when he lost to Salido he was just as competitive up to the point where he couldn't carry on. Juanma is way more skilled than Salido but Siri is his kryptonite. Any fighters who packs a solid chin and stalks juanma with heavy hands will get the best of him. Juanma needs a new brain to be able to use his full skillset. He is a confused boxer/brawler stuck somewhere in between due to a conflict between his mind, heart and instincts.
I hope he gets another world title he's always in good fights he does need to tighten up his defence though . Maybe the gamboa fight could still happen in the future if they both win a few fights this year
Flawed fighter with a poor defense and questionable ring IQ. Very entertaining fighter with very good power. With the right matchmaking he can claim another world title.
People have to realize that JuanMa lost a subtle quantity of skill level mostly in the department of speed and timing when he moved up from 122 to 126. When he was young enough to make 122 without any problem, he was knocking everyone the heck out effortlessly. JuanMa is kind of a freak of nature, he isn't the most talented guy but he is massive. Did you guys look at the size of this dudes fists? This content is protected Now he is standing next to a 130lb fighter. And I know hes closer to the camera, but his fist is still almost 2 times as big as Mikey's fist. Now Imagine THOSE hands hitting you at 122, two divisions south? JuanMa put people out so nasty before, but now he doesn't because he lost the little bit of speed he used to have. There are some knockouts in particular at 122 that he landed with extreme vicious power, mostly because he had a little bit more mechanical speed in his set up. He lost that a long ass time ago, and his punches have turned into nothing more than arm punches, with no leverage, and has resorted to his brute strength to try and win fights, but that has been his downfall. Everything that made him dangerous, he has lost. He'll never be the dangerous guy that he once was at 122. Which is why I wish he'd retire. He has no business fighting Gamboa or even being in a fight with Garcia for that matter.
It's crazy how seen people wrote him off. His defensive flaws were there for everyone to see, but he didn't always fight so recklessly. He needs to get back to form if he wants to be relevant. Beating Mikey is unlikely but it would be huge.
