David Price vs Dereck Chisora - How does this fight go?

The Skelton fight "proving" people right amuses me to be honest. He got caught by what, 2 or 3 punches? And then won by stoppage in the 2nd. How that proves Chisora beats him, I really don't know. He hardly massively struggled in there.

When has Chisora ever possessed one punch knockout power? At any level. He's a solid inside fighter but he's more the type to chop down an opponent and if he's going to get a stoppage, it's from an accumulation of punches.

One punch knockout predictions very, very rarely prove to be the case. Everyone said the same about Wladimir landing on Haye but we all saw how that worked out. And Chisora is certainly not the type of fighter who you'd expect one from

 

It's probably a case of who hits who on the chin first :yep

 

So you don't think Chisora can punch harder than the punch old man and out of shape Thompson landed? Price's chin is terrible its not about if his opponent hits hard its about if they can get there, Chisora will get close to him and hit him

 

That punch didn't land on his chin though did it? It hit him on the side of the head. Quite far away from his chin in fact, so that KO can't us any real indication of the strength of his chin. Let me ask you this then, it seems from your theory that you think if anyone lands one punch on Price that they'll stop him? Because sorry, that's ridiculous. Look at the shot Ingleby landed on him with his defences down in his first fight. By your logic, he should've gone down from that.

 

I'd like to see how both men come back from losses. Chisora being stopped for the first time will have a psychological affect on him.

I said it before the Haye fight and say it again Chisora isn't the granite chinned beast people proclaimed. He's a tough dude no doubts about it but he's got a breaking point. Helenius hurt him in first round, Fury even wilted him IIRC with a body shot and obviously Haye took him out last summer.

Chisora's soft downstairs and because he's squared up on upperhalf and presents no angles he allows fighters to attack the body without any defence as he's more focused on defending face in a tight central shell.

Price punches well to the body, Maintains his power when he drops downstairs for a big man which is impressive. This would be a key punch for him in this feet but would he be able to set himself and maintain composure as Chisora presses forward?.

I have my worries as we've seen a few times now when pressured aggressively Price tends to lose his position and supremacy as well as go from a safe position to a dangerous one (centre ring to ropes) and some of these moments are without a decent punch being thrown. A worry against a guy like Chisora. You've got to bully the bully like Fury and Haye have done and maintain composure.

Chisora's actually artillery isn't great as mentioned leaping left hooks, lacks a jab and pretty much clumps his opponents but he doesn't offer patterns which make him hard to read and for tall fighters they need maintain range and control against a fighter like Chisora. Chisora smells fear and a bully like himself loves it when he senses someone's wilting. Price's mental strength has been questioned around boxing circles and remains that way.

For Price it's simple, If you let the tank get going he's going to bomb forward and Chisora does lack bombs in his gloves so Price needs to be educated with the aggression but maintain centre ring and be commanding. Apply jab and set the shell up then work around Chisora's shell.

Chisora it's fight fast,fight compact and fight close. Chisora isn't a great pressure fighter lets be honest. He can be a tad lazy especially when inside, walk forward in straight lines and lack quality in his work. But what he does do well is bob the head when shots are coming taking the cleanness of punches off and also moving feet forward and he is a tough kid not as tough as some thought but he takes some beating.

He's faced some big hitters and only been stopped by the speed and angles of Haye. I think Chisora can upset Price's tempo and composure and can put him into a high paced fight.

I think if Chisora gets on the front foot and fancies the assignment i think he stops Price in 7 rounds. Price needs to maintain the centre of the ring and be the general in there to be successful and Chisora's style and ability to back Price up hands over that initiative and i think that's where the fight goes to Chisora if he's allowed to march forward and land to body.

If Price gets on front foot, Gets his paws on Chisora early and makes inroads i think he stops Chisora in middle rounds. I think a accumulative affect would wilt Chisora coming off the losses he has and i think if he sensed he couldn't bully Price and was being punished for basic advances i think he'd start to become easy prey for Price.

I go for Chisora though i think he's the more mentally stronger and natural fighter and can see him applying the gameplan more then Price who i think would have real trouble with the pace and mental and physical strain of the battle. My opinion is if Chisora can back up world class boxer and big punchers then he's going to do the same to Price. And i don't feel Price enjoys the war like Haye, Fury and Vitali. I think he falls away in middle rounds although having the odd success..

Im going with the talent of Price by late stoppage.

But by all means who could get sparked again.

 

I've got a feeling the Chisora from the Fury fight will be back. I don't think he will have the same motivation as he did against Vitali or Haye.

I'm genuinely worried about his mental health after seeing his IFilm interview from the other day.

Yesterday, my favourite tea mug shattered .. damn glass! I was thinking about David Price immediately .. anyway .. I used the vacuum cleaner but missed seemingly some little shards .. I stepped onto it and it hurted!

The conclusion of this story .. glass can be still dangerous. So, we will see in this fight, if Price can change something. Chisora must be a easy step up .. this guy lost 4 fights in a row.

This is tough to pick as we know delboy can come in fat and not motivated....50/50 and great potential fight.
