I just don't think Roy would have ever risked fighting overseas while he was on top after the Olympics. Roy was known by most as P4P #1, and was pretty much handed DM's titles for whatever reason. I think those circumstances really prevented Roy from going over there. It is a shame though.
One would have to entertain the idea as well of DM landing a very hard shot on Hopkins that hurts him, and allows him to wear the old man down. This isn't Calzaghe or even shot Roy.. DM could bang pretty well.
The old much worn addage applies here - styles make fights and Hopkins is a remarkably late bloomer. I believe Michalczewski scores an SD.
You're not asking who achieved more. You are asking who would win. It makes who achieved more at the weight irrelevant.
Gotta give DM some props. I mean, his resume isn't great, but 23 consecutive defenses. Pretty impressive. He had some decent names on there as well. I think the fight with DM vs. RJJ would have been very exciting. Shame, shame, shame.
I'm not sure how good Dariusz was as he was somewhat unproven. The Hill he fought. Still he was a technically sound pressure fighter and perhaps better than anyone Hopkins faced at LHW.
Rocc wasnt shot when DM beat him, he was coming off wins over Scully and Nunn. Griffin I dont think was anything special as a win, but its a name on DMs resume, to go with Barber, Hill, Girard etc and other wins like undefeated Prince, thadzi who beat Toney and other common opponents to Jones like Hall and Harmon.
